Hmmm the gas can holder would be hit first.. then the tire.. that's if its something of the same size. If it was a smaller sedan or coupe then your going to be cleaning the paint of the bumper and that's about it. A truck or a mid to full suv? Probably looking at the gas can holder taking most of it and maybe the tire being bent down into the supports at the bottom. But it all looks beefy. That's all for a minor maybe a little more than minor rear end. If its at highway speeds? Then no matter if it was there or not the whole back end would need to be replaced.

Im just jealous no one makes them for a WK anymore. The picture was taken form the uneek FB page if you want to see more.

Re: One can hope

This type of solution doesn't really translate well on the Grand, does it? The rear has too much rake, leaving the spare kinda "stuck out there".

I guess if your application means that you've got to have it...

I think there would be more uptake if the can holder was dumped and the spare mounted more centrally. There's a good fuel solution already, leaving just water storage to incorporate into your pack.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: One can hope

I think it's an awesome solution to see being made for sure. Whether it comes out to be as functional as other tire carriers, I applaud the efforts of Uneek.

I'm currently dreaming of having the Uneek bull bar some day. Such a great looking design.

Re: One can hope

If there is a strong enough demand for it-I could certainly see them doing it. That being said however, the wants & needs of the Jeep community down under is inherently different than the wants & needs of the Jeep community in North America.
