Yes, ladies and gentlemen...a whole year has now passed since I took delivery of my MY12 Summit. Time flies. Miles fly...19850 when I got home yesterday from a business trip. Speaking of which, the day after I took delivery last year, I did a 1000 mile round trip to Parkersburg WV to meet with a customer. In a stroke of irony, I did the same round trip this week, coming home on "the day".
I have been extremely pleased with this vehicle. I had one minor rattle issue in the overhead lighting unit, but that was fixed by the dealer immediately. Since then, it's been a couple oil changes and tire rotations...normal maintenance.
I've also been very pleased with the fuel economy, considering it's a V8. I generally get 15-16 mpg in regular rural driving and typically 20-21 on the highway. I have a light foot. But for my trip this week down and back to P'burg...I'm astounded. My actual fuel economy calculated using old-fashioned math was 24 mpg. That beat the EVIC which got as high as what you see in the graphic below. This was at a steady 65 mph, even in those few miles where the limit was 70. Note that I have not reset the EVIC in over six months, and it was at 16.3 when I left early Monday morning.
And now on to year two...may the trend continue.
