I just went out to my Overland to look for this button. It doesn't exist on mine. I was just thinking how stupid it was that there was no way to open the back as you were getting out so it was open by the time you got to the back. I found this thread and was excited that there was, then went and discovered that I just have a blank button there.

I have a March build; I wonder if they removed this button as a potential safety issue. Do any newer builds have this button?

Interesting. I wonder if mine is supposed to have this. Can anyone else with recent builds check and comment? I'd really appreciate it.

Re: Opening back without using FOB

March build and I have the button too.....it is only for power liftgates as far as I know. There is also a button on the left side of the cargo area which is convenient to close...dunno if pushed when closed it if would open it or not (assuming if in park already).

Thanks everyone, appreciate everyone checking. When I pick up my plates at the dealer I'll let them know.

Re: Opening back without using FOB

Just a follow up on this. The dealership confirmed the wrong part was shipped on my Overland and they took an overhead console from a stock Overland and swapped it into mine. Thanks again everyone for checking so I knew I could expect the button.
