Opening the fuel filler door with your knee...

This seems to happen to me occasionally. When getting out of the vehicle, I accidentally hit the fuel filler door button with my knee... which, of course, opens it.

Does this happen to anyone else, or do I just not know how to exit a vehicle properly?

Easy Exit is for fat people.

Sitting way too close to the wheel. I am 6'1" and don't even come close. You know what they say about distance from airbags right? Farther back the more effective and less likely to have he airbag injure you when it goes off

I've had my JGC two days, and twice have noticed the filler door open! Will watch for the knee effect...

Thanx for the tip!

I haven't yet opened the fuel door, but once in a while I activate the fog lights by pressing the light switch inward with my knee. Don't notice until next time the lights come on.

Never once hit the button on accident, then again i am 5'7 and have plenty of room when i leap out of my Jeep lol.

And as for people that have their seat closer to the steering wheel...DONT. I test airbags everyday at work...they are bone breakers if not worse when you are too close to them. Just scoot your seats back so you can still comfortably operate the pedals and wheel and WEAR SEATBELTS! :)

one fat tall bastard here. Easy exit would not help since i am essentially all the way back an almost all the way down on the sit position. I did hit a button a few times, along with bang side of my head while getting into a jeep ( a self-correcting problem, i remembered to duck after the second time). Additionally i put a quick release brake controller bracket for P3 so I will catch on the bracket before hitting the gas door release. But i was able to alleviate the issue by simply getting in and out of the jeep for 2 days :)
on the side note it is more of the torso proportion to the hight, but i seen some freaky bastards that would be 5'7" with 36" inseam.... now if a lady with those proportions, now we are talking about all legs, for guy well a freaky bastards :) ( yeah yeah yeah not PC but you know what I mean)

The fat people comment was just a joke. I know how people can get all sensitive on the net. And I could be fat myself.......I'm not but you get my point.

I am all for being insensitive about people letting themselves go? What you needed to be 600# to realized that they are hideous fat bastards @ 300lbs you could not tell? They needed to stuff their face with food until you need cut a hole in the wall to get you out of the house with the fork lift? I AM AN INCONSIDERED ASS, but i'd rather hurt ones' feeling and hope it will motivated enough to walk a mile vs eating XL supreme pizza by yourself!
Sure I got not much room to talk, I am OVERWEIGHT, but let's see - I can pass all the FD PT ( yeah a fat guy can run too), go to the gym, hike etc. Yes I will do a 2 cut/4 slice thing on a pie or above mentioned 14" pizza. BUT I WILL MAKE MYSELF WORK IT OFF! sure if I skip the food and still work out i will be a beef cake. I like cake more through :)
So my take:
if you are supersensitive about your weight ( i don't mean those anorexic/ bulimics, etc truly sick), BUT I AM TOO FAT TO WALK so i will get a handicapped permit and demand a scooter to shop for my soda at the supermarket. Well better get used to it! I will call you out, it is not society’s fault that you are a lazy slob that just eating yourself to death!

ok you welcome to ask how i really feel :) I promise not to hold back this time

PS I do look like a god- Buddha
