Re: Operating high beams together with fog lights?

I was just thinking about this. I know other vehicles can get around this with a simple jumper on the relay that controls this... but I don't know enough about the WK2 yet to tell you which relay or posts to jump. Anyone?

ETA: I checked out the mapping on WK2jeeps and didn't see anything labelled so it could be one of the acc relays.

I think the idea is still that you wouldn't use high beams in poor weather conditions. On the other hand, in some areas with clear weather conditions, you'll take all the light you can get. Being able to see better in front of you, off to the sides, and at farther distances can only help you.

ETA: I was thinking about this and I believe the real reason has to do with reducing the brightness of the light closest to you so that your eyes can interpret the light at a greater distance instead. I'd still prefer the option though.

Critters is a problem here as well. We have hit deer twice in the past 36 months and other smaller creatures. We have also had them run or jump into the car while stopped or just out of their sight. It's always a risk. If a bull bar didn't mess up mpg so much I might actually consider it

Re: Operating high beams together with fog lights?

I agree with the OP, and also had an '05 Magnum R/T programmed for "euro" lighting.

In actual fog, I don't toggle the highbeams. But up here in the mountains, the more light the better - and the high beams leave a "dark" spot close to the vehicle. I'd like to fill in the lower area with the fogs.

I am also going to swap to 2500K yellow bulbs, as soon as I can accurately determine how much wattage the housings can handle. Stock appears to be only a 24W bulb; I'm considering upping that a bit if the reflectors can take it.
