You learn something new every day. My Pioneer 4100NEX specifically stated it did both Android Auto and CarPlay. Different USB outlets used depending on which system you use. Carplay gets really upset when I mix up the USB cables and plug the android into it.

That's what I thought. I have ZERO reservations about the new unit with CarPlay for the 2018 GC...

Well I sold it this past weekend and now am on the fence about to purchase a 2017 that is optioned exactly as I would order it or place an order in June for a 2018 model.

The only data I have right now is that the infotainment system will be upgraded to the new 8.4 Uconnect system in the 2018 (adding CarPlay) and a brighter screen.

Does anybody else here have any inside info on any other changes to the 2018 GC?

One more data point is that I want the special leather package on my vehicle. I love the current color combo of the Indgio / Sky Signature package. What do you think the probability is that they will discontinue this option or change the color combos?

One last question. If orders are taken in June, production starts in July is it fair to expect delivery to California mid to late August?

Any insight or opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
I'd go for the 2017 to get a slightly better price close to when the higher priced 2018s come out. Sounds like you are in California - NorCal or SoCal? I'm up in the Bay Area and there are a few 2017s that show up on Jeep's website using the new car inventory locator using the build you want including the Laguna leather package. I went to a local dealer here last fall just to look when they first took delivery of 2 2017 Summits both with Laguna leather, one was black the other was blue and they were both stunning.

Happy hunting!

At the bare minimum I say wait until Milous releases some new information about the MY18 and then make your decision. Youve waited this long, might as well hold off and learn more about what you could be missing out on.

Thank you all for your replies so far. Great insight. Based on the feedback I am going to wait until Jeep provides some insight on the 2018. Hopefully in April (maybe NYC Auto Show)?

BTW I reside in Walnut Creek, Northern California

Not exactly in your backyard, but I bought my 2015 Summit from Stewart CJDR in Colma and they were pretty good. It didn't hurt that I dealt with the GM because I didn't like the sales rep who was "working" with me and I use that term loosely.

Have you seen the Laguna leather option in person? I thought it looked way better in person than even in the photos, and it's without a doubt the softest leather I've ever felt in any vehicle.

I saw the laguna leather at the dealership and it already had a huge stain on the passenger footwell area. Not saying the leather isnt soft or looks bad, just something to be aware of. Im sure some people who have it would be better able to talk about living with it.

I had the Laguna leather a in my Charger Hellcat, loved it and it kept up nicely with my kids jumping on it with their snow boots
