All evidence points to that being the case. I ordered on 3/18 a Limited CRD with ORA-II from the DC group buy and the MSRP was only $1795 (Invoice $1598) for the option. Based on the window stickers and build sheets of the examples in this thread, there are no "gotchas" - nothing removed from the package.

I'd sure like someone who knows a lot more than I do to confirm my theory, but everything I've seen indicates Jeep dropped the price of the ORA-II package for CRD and Hemi buyers by $700 to $1795.

ORA II - Not all created equal?

I doubt that. The $1700 price sounds like the V6 configuration. It doesn't have the rear ELSD so it's cheaper.

In the end you should end up with the same result if you order the ORA2 package *except* if you have a V6.

IIRC, the base Overland includes tow IV, so it's not part of the ORA2 package so the pricing may vary depending on the config.

limited: the 1,795 price refers to the V6 config. If you look at the 2,495 price, it notes "with EXF or EZH" (V8 or diesel)
Quote:
OFF-ROAD ADVENTURE II (AWY) N/A W/AWL [MSRP $1,795 / INV. $ 1,598] / with EXF or EZH: [MSRP $2,495 / INV. $ 2,221]
220 Amp Alternator (BAJ)
7 and 4 Pin Wiring Harness (XF2)

Delete Rear Tow Hook (XC8)

overland: again, price on the left is for V6. price on the right is V8 and diesel. again, the v6 is cheaper because it does not include the rear ELSD which makes it into "QD2". the prices are lower because some items are part of the base overland config.

But one of the stickers shown in this thread has a Limited with the 1795- ORA 2 with the CRD. That's the issue.

Re: ORA II - Not all created equal?

Which do you think is more likely to be in error?

They dropped the price from 2,495 to 1,795 or they used the V6 number which just happens to be 1,795?

First, we're not discussing Overlands. Limited only is what we are talking about.

Second, here's my evidence:

1. I ordered a DIESEL LIMITED on 3/18 with ORA-2 from the DC Group Buy. Directly from Nader, I think he knows what he's doing. MSRP: $1795. AND I'm not the only one who has reported the same price for the CRD ORA-2 option.

2. Go to Build & Price on the JEEP web site. Build a Limited CRD with ORA-2. MSRP: $1795.

3. Look at the Window Stickers and Build Sheets of the 2 examples above. BOTH CRD Limiteds. One has ORA-2 with an MSRP of $2495, the other has ORA-2 with an MSRP of $1795. THEN look at the build sheets for each. Both have the same equipment.

Anyone have anything other than speculation which proves otherwise?

Not saying you're wrong, but how do you explain Build & Price on the Jeep web site and my Configuration sheet from Koons? Both show an MSRP of $1795 for ORA-2 on a diesel Limited.

I don't think they're both "in error" but they could be! So long as my build sheet shows QD2 and Tow Package IV, I won't care that they charged me $700 less. :-)

Jeep had a price change back in Sept/Oct that affected prices for CRD, Limited trim, and ORAII. Base model trim went up, CRD went up, and ORAII went down as suggested. I have a decked- out Limited and the new prices resulted in $250 decrease at time of delivery in early Nov for an Aug build. The Houston dealer gave me the lower package price without even me asking. I hope this helps to explain.

Re: ORA II - Not all created equal?

When I ordered mine back in Sept. it appeared that the $2495 price was for QDII with V8 versions and HD brakes were for the added weight of the V8. Jeep's website was flaky even then and hard to understand. The build sheet (which I insisted be included when the vehicle was delivered) is clear about what's included, but of course prices aren't on it as they are on the window sticker.

Re: ORA II - Not all created equal?

Interesting... on the Overland, QDII is also available as a standalone option ($795/708) on the V8 and diesel besides also being a part of ORAII.

On the Limited you can only get it as part of ORAII with the V8 and diesel.

Definitely looks like we have an explanation, best one yet! Thank you!

I noticed that a while back. I wonder if there is some kind of dependency on Quadra-Lift, which is standard on the Overland but part of ORAII on the Limited.
