Re: ORC module recall

Anyone know what's involved in the fix Chrysler is planning for this? Still not happy with the way my brake booster recall was done.

Yeah the unit isn't installed correctly, person was done in less than two hours with that and a bunch of other stuff. Next time I go in for service I will bring it up.

Re: ORC module recall

Where is the ORC Module located? Just wondering what the dealer will have to R&R to change the module.

Re: ORC module recall

Got a call from the dealership today to tell me that brake booster shield was in for both my '11 and my '14. When I got home the ORC Recall for the '14 was in the mail. Of course, it's not really a Recall....it's like the TIPM recall on my '11.....it's a "There is a problem but we can't fix it yet so we will send you another REAL recall notice at some unspecified time in the future".

Just venting guys.....it's getting frustrating. Two 80 mile round trips next week and both vehicles will still have outstanding recalls.

I'm curious also....I hope they don't destroy my interior....whenever semi major work had to be done to my interior it always came back a little off. They fix one thing and mess up something cosmetic in the process. At least that's been my experience.

Re: ORC module recall

When they replaced my ORC module, they removed the side panels under the center console and said it was located under there. They also busted one of the clips and the panels didn't clip back on as they were supposed to. Hate that I now have to perform this again after getting it done recently before the recall was announced.

Re: ORC module recall

took my jeep to the dealer on Friday for the p64 recall and some other reflashes and I was talking to the service manager about the p67 recall. He said jeep sent out a blanket recall notice but they have not determined how many vehicles are accutally involved. Seem the bad board came out of one plant and they have just begun to trace the bad boards. He told me that no info is available yet and no worries about the air bag not going off if needed unless the light is on. He said that if the light comes on the return it to the dealer and they will try to locate and replacement but all the new good boards are being used in new production so it may take some time to get a replacement

Re: ORC module recall

Unfortunately, a dealer can send up the Bat Signal all they want and that won't get them a new ORC module any faster.

very true the service manager said he did not even have a part number for the part in order to try to order one under the recall
