Re: ORC module recall

Me too, I've been waiting for one. The last service didn't go all that well at my dealership. I told my wife I want to try the other one in town so I'll just wait for the next recall notice as I'm sure there will be another.

Re: ORC module recall

Any updates on this? I just checked online and it still said part not available. Anyone have an ETA? BTW, when my brake booster was replaced my master cylinder was "found" damaged (they broke it in the process) so they kept my jeep for a week until they got a replacement and I got a crappy Dodge Journey rental. This is my first Jeep and like everyone else here I have had numerous recalls. I also went through a puddle and my sideboards filled with water that required a trip to the dealer. Dealer said drain wasnt connected properly. Had to go back for other side another day. This is a Jeep right? It should be able to go through a puddle! I was asked if I had taken it offroad, answer was no, but shouldn't I be able to?

Re: ORC module recall

I've had all the recalls done at this point. I should also be up to date on all the tsb's.

It seems some dealers have the parts on hand and others were made to wait months for the same exact parts.

My selling dealer had me waiting months. A different dealer by my office did all the recall work in one day. Zero wait.

As far as going off road, I've never had a problem. I've only done beach driving though, no rock climbing in the overland.....

Re: ORC module recall

When having the brake booster recall done, I asked the service manager about the issues with recall parts availability, why did some dealers seem to be able to get parts, others can't.

He said that it had a lot to do with how fast the dealership turned the recall paperwork around with Chrysler. Not the volume of recall repairs they've done. The faster they did it the sooner they got more parts.

At the time I first went in to schedule an appointment for the brake booster recall and get the kit ordered, they had done well over 300 of them. They had the kit on hand, there was no waiting for them to order one.

Good question. Besides the notice I got in the mail, this from the NHTSA:

Re: ORC module recall

Interesting update on P67 ORC recall. I had a state inspection and oil change done at my dealer today. On the invoice was an item saying the P67 recall was performed. I went to my service adviser and asked how it could have been done when the parts were not available and he told me that was correct, the part wasn't available, but the tech did a software update that pertained to the recall. He also said that I would receive another notice when the part was available, and I would need to return to have the replacement done. Reading my recall notice, and the NHTSA notice, I couldn't find anything about a software update, just the part replacement. Anyone else have any info on this. (Here's a scan of that part of my invoice.)

Ya, I'm not buying the software involvement when the problem was Bosch applying a coating too thin and the new, delayed, part solving that then what's the software for? hmm

Re: ORC module recall

My dealer said the parts of the ORC recall were reserved for vehicles with actual failures. If/when more parts come available they will start sending them to handle the recalls.
