I ordered the V6 summit today. I have been to the jeep garage for serval years, always wanted to order a GC, finally pulled the trigger today.

I was planning for a diesel, but the diesel option is kind of expensive. So I decided to get a V6. Talked to the sales manager and my sales today and both of them told me that diesel will delay until Oct. My sales told me that he got another customer wanted to order 2 diesel GCs, but now he has to tell him to wait until Oct.

I considered the V8 option as well, but I don't like the gas milage. I can't wait too long because my current car's tires are wearing out. I need to either get all 4 new tires or a new car. So I decide to lease the GC V6.

Car is on its route to dealership now, so I should have the car next week, I hope.

I bought a V6 Summit a couple of weeks ago and I'm in love with the engine. I test drove a couple of Hemis beforehand and was nevertheless totally impressed with the V6. No regrets at all! (I too got tired of waiting for the diesel.)

Thank you Tony for your opinion.

I kept reading the other thread, "2014 GC 3.6L V6 enough? ", several times and the sales manage also said that the 8 speed transmission is very good with V6. He drove V6 back to his house, which is on the hill, without any issue. These are the biggest drive for me to go for V6.

I can't wait to take delivery.

My Jeep arrived to the dealer today.

Apparently the one my sales reserved for me was taken by another sales' customer long ago. So I will take another one with the same model (Summit) and the same color (exterior and interior) but with the CD player. Although I don't think I will use the CD player, I will use the memory card most of the time, I will take it anyway.

I plan to take delivery on Wednesday, if everything can be arranged. Otherwise, I will take delivery on Thursday.

I checked the car today. The CD player does take a lot of space from the console storage, but I don't have lots stuff to put there anyway. So it's fine to me.

If I don't take it, I will lose my lease deal which need to take the delivery by the end of this month. I am not sure what option I have. I don't want to wait too long because my current car, Volvo XC60, doesn't get too much to trade in. I am afraid the trade in price will drop if I keep it too long.

I was making fun to my sales that I should remove the CD player and sell it by $300. I think I don't mind DVD player, but CD player doesn't really do too much.

And you shouldn't have to pay for the CD player either, if they sold yours awhile ago

Yes, I don't need to pay for the CD player.

According to my sales, the car without CD player is sold to 2 persons, so one of us will get the car with CD player. So they decided to let me take the car with CD player. Both of these 2 cars are having the same colors for exterior and interior (Granite and Brown). I happen to like the combination of these 2 colors.

I just can't wait to take the new Jeep, so I decide to take it.

Break in?

I don't want to open a new thread, but I can't find any useful info when search the forum.

According to user manuel, I have to keep it under 50 mph for the first 60 miles. Does any one follow that recommendation from user manuel? Or do I have to care about it?
