I ordered an Overland Hemi with ORAII on 9/23. It's status is D with a VIN assigned by no date. I called the dealer to make a change. I'd really like the 20" wheels, so I figured I'd cancel the ORAII and just put on skid plates later.
They told me too late, can't do it. I'm not upset at all. Small issue. If I missed the boat I missed the boat. I'll be stoked to get my vehicle in a month hopefully.
But, I have to wonder. Is that right? Should I be able to make the change at this point? Were they blowing me off to avoid any extra work?
My understanding is that once you get into C status it is too late for the dealer to make changes. Their computer system will not allow it. I was able to make a change while in C status only because my dealer was able to get his factory rep to initiate the change. Finally, my dealer told me he has been around a long time and it has always been that once you hit D status it is too late to make changes. He was surprised that he could not make a change via his system when the vehicle was in C status.
