Order Times

I have had the most ridiculous time trying to get my vehicle. I've gone through 2 dealers and both initially said they can get the vehicle, I put down a deposit to have one transferred and today they tell me it's already been sold by the other dealer. Now the are saying that I have to order one. What is a realistic time frame for a WK2 limited in Dark Charcoal Pearl, tow IV, Lux II, 20in wheels, DVD, 730n RHR?

Re: Order Times

Probably 8 weeks....that's what I would guess. Perhaps less depending on where you live for transit times. You might luck out and get it in 6 weeks.

Re: Order Times

With the RHR requirement, you probably won't readily find one on the lot anywhere since the RHR really has only been in production for about a month.

Re: Order Times

When I checked yesterday, Jeep is only accepting orders for white and silver. The dealer cannot even place an order for other colors until Jeep lifts the restrictions.

I've seen anywhere from 4 weeks to 12 from order time to delivery, mostly about 8 weeks, although I hear there are a few that never got their car.

If you want the new RHR, look for February or newer build dates. There may be some built in January, but I dunno the switch over date off hand.

I was doing the same thing for over a month. I chased so many dealer trades and lost them to sales. Some dealers will not even do a dealer trade as the supply is limited right now.

I would spend the extra $$$ and just find one that is around 1000 miles and then fly there and get it. I did my purchase all over the phone and then drove my trade to the dealer to get it. Others here have also done the same with flight out and drive back. Alot of dealers will even come to the airport to pick you up if it is close enough.

I talked with my dealer last night and they are looking at 12 weeks minimum right now for delivery.

on a side note, a friend of mine who just bought a new wrangler (4 door) called me today. voice disguised, says "this is ken smith from Jeep USA, is this Brandon", "yes it is"... "sir, just for verification, you have a mineral grey overland summit on order which is enroute to Cornelius, NC, is that correct"... "yes sir, that's me"... "well sir, unfortunatly i have some bad news for you... due to the storms last night (we had really bad storms in the NC/VA area) we lost a rail car in transit. On the rail car were 4 jeeps, and, well, one of those was yours". "ok", i say as letting him tell me what his solution is... he says "sir we're gonna need to put this vehicle back into production which will give us an estimated delivery date of 8-10 weeks". just to understand, i'm pretty calm about things, usually work through a solution pretty quickly, so i tell him in a very calm voice "that's unacceptable"... silence. "sir, i have been waiting on this vehicle over 2 months and your telling me it's another 8-10 weeks?".. "yes sir that is the case"... immediatly i look at the phone and hit the conference button to call my dealer... while looking for his number, i recoginzed my buddy's voice... so joke is on me. Summit is still scheduled for arrival Thursday...baring any rail accidents.

Re: Order Times

I would assume at least 12 - 14 weeks (based on my personal experience thus far). This is what Jeep's customer service are quoting.

That stinker! What kind of a friend would do that? That's as bad as putting up a fraudulent post on this forum on April 1st .... wait ... nevermind.

12 - 14 weeks from today puts us out to the June 28-July 12 time frame. Production on the 2010 stops July 8 or so, the 2012s start up July 18 or so. On sale Sept 1 or so officially. If you can't find anything on the lot (there may be more incentives in July) , perhaps its time to wait for the 2012s? I dunno what price increase Jeep has in mind for 2012 and we hear that there will be few, if any, model year changes otherwise...

Re: Order Times

I feel if they increase the price in 2012 they're going to have to include some options as standard and/or add new items to justify a price increase and would expect that as well.

Re: Order Times

I was one of the lucky ones and placed my order Feb 9th and took delivery March 17th. Which was about 36 days. White overland 730n RHR. But my guess would be 7-9 weeks. Better decide soon though because in a few weeks they will no longer be taking orders.
