Ordered an Overland

Ordered an Overland for the Wife.

Got the Overland with Deep Cherry Red/Light Frost, Hemi, Quadra drive, engine block heater, CD Player(sorrry I am old school).

Anyone on here paint the fiber inner wheel well liners? Look like they will hold slush.

Also, we test drove a Limited but with the quadra lift how much lower when in park mode does the jeep sit, wife is 5'4 so getting in and out is a little more work, she drives a PT GT stick for winter and another PT GT Stick convertible for summer.

Still have my 02 WJ laredo Inferno red, 4.7 NV242 so they should look good together

Re: Ordered an Overland

The Brown Leather and Light Frost Interior was what my wife had to have. We picked up our Deep Cherry Red Overland three weeks ago down in Santa Fe, NM. We have the Diesel instead of the Hemi. Got nearly 29 mpg on the 600+ mile trip home.

Here's a picture near the Colorado - New Mexico border:

Re: Ordered an Overland

Congrats. QL heights are described in the owner's manual on the Official Jeep website. "Park" setting is noticeably lower. My 91 year old 4' 11" mother-in-law easily hops in and out of the vehicle. Even I use it most of the time. You can set it to lower automatically when in you put the gear shift in Park, but I just push the lower button when below 15mph and it is already low when I stop.

Re: Ordered an Overland

Hi

Thanks for the feedback, Admire the "Red" jeeps and good to know it will be easier to get in and out of.

We test drove a Wrangler Unlimited and the Grand Cherokee Limited.

Amazed at how quiet, isolated the Grand is. The Wrangler was nice but definatley feel
more of the bumps and what not. I let her decide, and since she will drive this in the winter the full time t-case will be much better. Plus its got a Hemi

She will have to get used to the gizmos in it, since our newest car is an 06 PT.
I showed her sport mode and how to use the paddle shifters, The V6 wasnt bad but if I am spending this kind of coin, went with the Hemi.

next year I will get a SRT Challenger and I should be good for cars for a while.

Re: Ordered an Overland

Yes the inner liners do hold slush, they are just aweful.
One of the worst things about this vehicle.

Re: Ordered an Overland

Once it comes in and I pick it up, will rip it all apart and paint the underside with Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator Paint and top coat with Epoxy Chasis black and seal all the seams with their paintable seam sealer.

Then I spray their Hevi Duty antirust on floors and flood all the rockers, lower doors hatch, subframes, nooks in the hodd with Eureka Fluid film

If these fender liners will adhere to paint might test a small section and paint them too.

Plus I will put the mudflaps on. Will also look into the clear films for the front and rocker areas.

Re: Ordered an Overland

In the meantime, you should consider selling those PT's to Carmax.

WHy? I drive two rag tops, one as a winter car, other as summer car.
Wife drives her ragtop and 4 dr.

Bought em cheap, paid cash, just like this Jeep will be.

There good cars and nothing is more fun at red light than blowing away jerks revving their engines . They are suprized when they see tailights Dynoed my 03 GT and got 227 WHP and 255 WTQ on a dyno jet, figure 15% driveline losses and the little 2.4 turbo pumps out 275HP and 300 TQ, of course Chrysler as usual under rates their engines to save customers money on insurance

Plus nothing like driving around with top down on summer evening

Looks like quite a project - BUT - well worth the extra rust prevention!!

Re: Ordered an Overland

Yes

I live in maine and the calcium chloride they pour on the highways here ruin cars in about 7-8 yrs, rots out the floors, rockers, subframes.

Doing some preventative measures make all the difference.

Really not that hard to do, I am pals with couple techs at the store I ordered from and I am in the bays all the time, the stuff that comes in is corroded and looks like crap after a few years. Easier to paint it underneath and rust proof.
