The problem for me is the only reason I want to trade is to get a black interior and then add the black wood and steering wheel from the Summit. The cost of everything is $5,000. Plus, tinting windows agan and another clear bra and I'm at $5,700 plus tax. Not worth it as I like my beige interior, just thought I'd try to get the black interior with black wood if it could be done at a lower cost. I'll maybe give it another shot if more incentives come out in May. Thanks for your opinion. It's just, on my 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited I traded in after 6 years of ownership, I got $1,250 above KBB excellent trade in price and could have gotten $1,750 from a different dealer but I found out to late. My '98 GC, same deal, $1,000 above KBB excellent trade price. I guess I would be OK trading for $2,500 + $1,500 for the black summit wood. But I couldn't get them down that far. They know I was still flexible in price. Their first offer was $16,000 to trade. So, who was being greedy? The dealer.

I'll take an Overland de-chromed in black PX8 with carbon fiber or black gloss interior applique! And silver, not copper interior trim pieces.

Well the Summit also includes the 19 speaker HK sound system which is normally a $2,000 option on the SRT. But if you have a tin ear, then it wouldn't matter.

I think I will end up with

Overland 4x4
Advanced Tech Group
5.7L V8
Red Cherry / Black or Black / Black

right now $45724 a little over 5% bellow inv

bought the summit! dealer offered me $875 more on my trade in, and ~4% over invoice!

total difference would be 3k from overland!

I am not too well versed in all this bargaining terminology. Is 2% below invoice a good deal?

Re: Ordering a 2014?? Which model

I worked out a great (really great) deal on my 14 Overland. I was pretty easy to deal with, and so were they. But, I intentionally told them I wanted a color option that I knew they didn't have but also knew there was another dealer in their system that had one. I worked out the entire deal on an Overland with no tech package. We went back and forth on trade and difference etc, which I hate more than anything, but its part of the game. After we worked it all out I said I had been thinking about it and wondered if they could give me the one on their lot in different color but with the tech package for the same price. They ended up doing it, so I think I did great. I am very happy with it and am still playing with all the dodads in it. Quite a leap from a Wrangler...lol. I will most definitely be getting an SRT when they refresh in MY16, but couldn't take that much out of the bank this go around as we are buying/building a new house.

.
Bill-

Just checking my numbers.

Limited V6 4x4 w/ ORA II, 8.4AN

Invoice - $38,498 + $995 dest. = $39,493
MSRP - $41,380 incl. Dest.

Holdback is 3% of $41,380 - $995 =$40,385 x .03 = $1211.55

Dealer gets 2% off invoice if I use affiliates program

$39,493 x .02 = $789.86

$1211.55 + $789.86 = $2001.41

So, I have $2001.41, or a little more than 5% of invoice, in negotiating room/power from the invoice price of $39,493, before the dealership starts losing money on the deal? Assuming no trade or other hidden fee's where they might make money.

As before, just trying to figure this all out.

Many thanks in advance.

I will be going over to the dealership tonight. Any bits of advice? Is 2% below invoice a good place to aim for?

Depending on where your at. I've only gotten to 1% so far, but haven't really started negotiating hard, bc I'm planning on ordering a crd. If you're within a reasonable distance from a group buy it might be worth it for you to travel
