Ordering an Overland this week, price break down

Been dealing with my sales guy for literally over a year. He's been great. Originally wanted a Blackberry Pearl but then the tsunami, so waited for the True Blue, we like, so we're ordering. Said 3K off MSRP or Friends and Family price , which ever was cheaper, then 1K rebate:

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 V8
Beige
MSRP: $46,015
Sale Price: $42,773
Dealer Fee: $598
6% Sales Tax: $2602
Title: $18
Lemon: $3
Sub-total: $45,994.26
minus rebate: 1,000
balance: $44,994.26

Putting zero down, probably finance for 60 months at whatever they offer or my credit union. Credit union is 2.75%. I'd rather put money down on the house.

$600 "dealer fee"? WTH is that? ouch.

I have True Blue myself, with grey interior. Yours will looks great with the beige. (personally, I don't think the black or saddle looks very good with that exterior color.)

Did the dealer say anything about restriction on factory orders? There was discussion here last week about all WK2 orders being on restriction....

Checkout TrueCar.com, that will show you where to get the best price possible. I used them (free) to order my limited (and i paid over 4,000 less than Kelly Blue book "Fair Purchase Price" and several hundred under dealer cost.. Check it out and let me know what you think.

USAA uses truecar for their pricing. I compared pricing when looking for a vehicle.

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

$800 bucks a month for a Jeep? Holy Toledo!!...Go lease a new ML350 and save $230 a month...My local dealer is doing a zero, zero (sign & drive) 12k lease on the new ML for $569 a month/ 36 months..My opinion...You might as well consider leasing, your way, you will be burried in it from the minute you sign the loan docs...

I was thinking about putting 10K down. However, after running some numbers it makes more sense to use that money towards my house. Save a whole lot more in interest there.

Lease is out of the question b/c it will probably get 20K miles a year on it.

I agree, it's alot, considering my current cars are paid off and were only $26K and $28K out the door. One was bought 9 years ago and the other 6 years ago

I did think the dealer fee seemed high, I'll check out trucar/usaa as we have our insurance thru them.
