Re: Our Recent trip to USA from Aust.

If you liked the Laredo, you'll love the Overland, especially if you're going to offroad in the WA bush. Just remember to add a portable air compressor along with tucker, tent and Fosters!

If it is any thing like my old WJ, which was amazing in the sand dunes up at Wedge Island and Lancerlin, i'll be ecstatic.

For you Americans, look here:-

Lancellin: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en...ed=0CCAQ8gEwAA
WWedge Island: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en...ed=0CCAQ8gEwAA

I could start from stop at the bottom of a dune, and just go straight up, passing Landcruisers, wallowing, and having to back down and start again, power to weight of the 4.7 V8 left them all for dead, and in low range with my sports exhaust, sounded fantastic.

(DROOL!)

You know the offroad drill probably in your sleep, but to state the obvious anyway don't forget front and back tow hooks and a suitable tow strap (see JG threads on these topics; also, see earlier posts by Dunecrawler in Dubai). But you probably don't need skid plates, which might just act as sand scoops.

Enjoy, and share the pleasure by letting us know, pics and all, how it goes when you finally hit the trail!

I see you are from Pennsylvania.

Our next trip, this coming Xmas is to New York for Xmas & New Years, initially staying in Rahway NJ, before moving on to NY for New Years eve weekend.

We plan on hiring another GC to drive around, exploring.

We where there last in '05 and did Gettysburg and Washington then NY, after driving from Chicago. This time Atalantic City and North of NY perhaps up to Boston and maybe as far as Niagra Falls, but want to see most of the North East.

If you're into history, Old City Philadelphia (the capital of the US before Washington) is right off I-95 and worth a few hours.
