That's not an issue in the DC area, where we have a plethora of LR dealers to choose from. Therefore, I would never be inconvenienced by having my LR4 in the shop all the time, since they're all so close by. How's that for some sound reasoning. Wait, what?

Yeah at least they usually give out loaners. Anyway I'm not buying one again. I think they're nice just not for me.

yeah...thats not sound...LOL. Going to, taking a vehicle to the dealer reguarly is not appealing to me. My 2006 Jeep and 2008 Lexus have been completely trouble free. I do take my wifes Lexus to the dealer every 5000 miles and that is a pain. I couldnt imagine going often for warranty.

Also...fwiw...the 3rd row on the LR is useless and thats according to the owner.

Re: overland delays makes LR4 appealing?

Having looked at both, and really the whole LR lineup, I picked the Jeep hands down. The ability that the jeep brings I argue parallels the LR in nearly all aspects, other than size. You lose that brand appeal, and being in DC that is something I suppose, but I love to get out in the country and not be afraid to scratch my truck or have it break down on me (which remains to be seen, with both models really)

Re: overland delays makes LR4 appealing?

My Jeep is completed and sitting in railyard in Toledo Ohio. They completed Friday night (put on side steps, etc there) and if went from Body Vendor Status to Hold Status. I actually called company who now have it and they said they are waiting to put it on railcar but cannot do anything until Jeep changes status to KZ and send over release paperwork. They also told me the have vehicles from 2008 SITTING ON THEIR LOT STILL!!! I have contacted every number I have to get vehicle released and we shall see what happens. I figured maybe it was for QC but when I asked the guy if someone makes sure the vehicles are tested before released he said no. Most of them just sit there waiting for code to be changed and paperwork, NO QC.

What a joke, to be continued but if my vehicle sits there one more day and isn't shipped I am going to lose it on my dealer for not working harder to help me own my $45K vehicle! If I had a customer waiting 3 plus months I would make it a top priority and contact the right people to get it released!

I agree that the Jeep wins the price/value contest over the LR4. I am not the OP on this thread and am fully sold on the WK2. In fact, I'm strategizing with my dealer right now as to how to manage the nav/radio availability issue and I'm chomping at the bit to place my order. I want to buy American and do it right now! But that is only one of my many reasons for preferring the Jeep.

Re: overland delays makes LR4 appealing?

Luckily for me I was able to find an Overland in my area to my liking, and after looking on this forum for about 2 seconds I snatched it up not willing to give into the looooooong wait for an ordered vehicle. I wanted the tech package and saddle...but I got Charcoal, Black int, and the hemi with a 730n RER radio. There are cars out there...I just had to drive to lower PA from Dover DE to get it. Keep the faith! This car is very worth it.
