Negotiate the price of the vehicle first...and that should be based on % off invoice, not MSRP. Then negotiate the lease with $0 down. Never make a down payment on a lease. And don't let the dealer(s) just hand you monthly prices. You need to get the actual numbers including vehicle cost, residual (value at the end of the lease), money factor (effectively the interest rate), etc., to be able to compare your deals. The higher the residual and lower the cost, the more reasonable your payment will be.
