Overland Nepal Jeep Brown

I'm getting close to ordering a 2014 Overland with the light frost / "Nepal Jeep Brown" interior. However I have never seen one of these interiors in the flesh. None of the dealers in my area have any Overlands in stock with the light interior, and unfortunately I just don't have time to drive hours around looking at other dealers.

Anyway my question is how does the brown leather dash look on the Overlands? Looking at pictures online (yes I know this is not a good way to judge colors) the brown looks fairly "medium" as opposed to "dark". Is there much contrast between the dash color and the color of the wood trim? I've never owned a car with a non-black dashboard. Does the brown dash reflect too much off the windshield in bright light?

I have an Overland in Brilliant Black with the light frost/brown interior. Originally I was torn...but now--I wouldn't go with any of the other interiors. Of course it's all subjective but I love the combo.

The brown dash leather is a medium to medium-dark brown. It's not too light and I have no issues with reflection (except for a slight reflection of the stitching, but you get that on the black ones too and you quickly tune it out). There's a bit of contrast with the wood trim because it has both brown and an almost blackish grain to it. Overall it's a good combo.

The brown is rich! Everyone that sees it loves it. Nothing on the market compares. The only concern is the light carpet. I put in black husky weatherbeater floor mats and the contrast is great. You will see a reflection of the white stitching of the dash in the windshield in certain conditions but not all the time.

Re: Overland Nepal Jeep Brown

Is the brown dashboard trim of the Nepal interior shared with the Grand Canyon and Vesuvio interiors? It would make sense in order to save production costs.

Re: Overland Nepal Jeep Brown

Firstly, we live in Texas, so white and light interiors are definitely the way to go here!!!

We have a Bright White Overland with the Brown/Nepal Interior and it looks stunning. We went with the Tan colored Husky Weatherbeater rubber mats and they almost look factory !

Everyone that checked out our JGC has commented on the interior color and about the dash, how nice it is!

FYI - I treated the interior with 303 Protectant, which gave a little gloss to the dashboard and plastics. Neither SWMBO or I noticed anything distracting on the windsheld during our 1000 plus mile road trip last weekend.... !

Re: Overland Nepal Jeep Brown

I've never been a fan of black or dark colored interiors. Unfortunately, I like the granite crystal exterior color so I had no choice but black when buying this out of the showroom.

The two-tone brown interior looks classier, makes the interior feel bigger and it doesn't show dust or scuff marks like the black does.

Got the Granite Chrystal exterior with the Light Frost Interior and love it. Switch the mats out for the Weathertechs as son as you can - I just got the set for the front driver and passenger - mine are tan. My buddy went with the all black interior and is now wishing he went with Light Frost too - it's a really nice contrast to the darker exterior.

Where's the love for the vesuvio indigo blue? Seems like a nice compromise between the black and tan.

Re: Overland Nepal Jeep Brown

I like the Nepal Jeep Brown... EXCEPT for the light colored carpets. I have Sahara tan carpets in my Wrangler and black carpets in my Commander and Subaru.

The Wrangler's carpets always get dirty -- and I have slush mats. The Commander's and Subaru's still look pretty much new.

I think you'll like the blue/brown... it's unique.

Thanks, everybody, for the input. I currently have the frost interior in my '12 Limited and I do really like the lighter color. I also like the "black & tan" look of the Limited, with the black dash and carpets. I was just concerned about the dash on the Overland, so I'm glad to hear that people really like the look.

Roger on the floormats to protect the light carpet. I might just go with black because that's what I'm used to.

I've never seen one of the Overlands with the blue/brown interior either, but somehow I believe that non-neutral colors belong on the outsides of vehicles, not one the upholstery. JMHO.
