Overland Off Road 1 package

I've been looking for a 2014 Limited with Offroad 1 package and LUX II package - but its a weird combination so no one has it and it needs to be ordered. Today, I found an Overland at a great price. Since the Overland has the LUX II features standard (and the nice 20" rims that I love), I figure that it makes sense to get it, however, the jeep website does not show the Off Road 1 package as being available on Overland, only Off road 2. Does that mean that it comes with it stock? If not, then would I still be able to take it on light trails?

Re: Overland Off Road 1 package

you should look up in the car configuration module on the website what each package contains. The overland comes equipped with most of the things that are part of ORA-2. That being said, if you want that Overland, make sure you buy the skid plates separately and install them. I think you'd only be missing heavy duty cooling at that point, and the alternator. Or maybe not. You have to see what ORA-2 adds, but definitely skid plates is what you want for anything other than asphalt driving. You might be totally fine forever and ever but that one boulder combined with wrong tire placement might just be the ticket to thousands of dollars in damage which could have been avoided by a measly 400 dollar investment.

Re: Overland Off Road 1 package

Upon further research, Skid plates come as part of Off Road II package on the overland. Which is add $400, and no one seems to have in stock, so looks like I'm back to square 1

Re: Overland Off Road 1 package

you can add the skid plates yourself or the dealership can add them for you. The stealer-ship might even sell them cheaper to you if you buy them at the same time as the car.

that is an interesting idea. Apparently ORA II takes away 20" rims and replaces them with 18" (I'm assuming same style as limited)

Yes they are... better cushioning and less chance of wheel damage. Dealer can get the skid plates in less than 1 week.

I'll add that to the list of things to ask when he calls me back

So just add the skid plates and the Overland should be good to go?

Re: Overland Off Road 1 package

Again, check and see what the differences actually are but you are getting a more off road capable vehicle in the Overland because you get the air suspension which adds wheel travel and ground clearance.

Re: Overland Off Road 1 package

I recently purchased a limited with the tow package. the dealer installed the tow hooks so the believe the only thing different with mine from OR1 is the skids. The tow package gives you a 'full size' spare.
