I went with mineral gray
Find it very interesting the various deals dealers make. I've heard of people just throwing the TL 1% below invoice out, and simply getting a better deal negotiating. Free oil changes for LIFE? Nice. Hmmmmmm???

Re: Overland Special Order Questions

Where do you find your status on a order? My Dealer said that they where going to put a rush on it for me, But not sure if that is possible looking at all the comments in here.

Re: Overland Special Order Questions

Well, I lucked out and found a special order Overland in Mineral Gray with Saddle. The buyer backed out and I stepped in. I wanted the Offroad Adventure Group II, but I can easily add the skid plates and tow hooks and may spring for a second set of wheels for offroading. The 20's look sharp though! I should be able to pick it up tomorrow. $3k off of MSRP, which ended up at $2k after the extended warranty and some other crap they made me buy (yes, made me buy) if I wanted the car.

Re: Overland Special Order Questions

If you're looking for something a bit different than black or white.....go mineral gray or blackberry.....both will look sharp and classy. The charcoal is very close to black in a lot of lighting conditions so if you don't want black or white that would probably rule out charcoal too.

Re: Overland Special Order Questions

I negotiated price for a special order Laredo X to a ~ $250 under invoice - includes everything except taxes. I have not used any of "Employee Pricing", "Tread Lightly" or any other discount programs.

Re: Overland Special Order Questions

I don't know man, here in Connecticut these dealers are holding FIRM!

You'd think they had people lining up at their doors to drop near 50K on a new Jeep. Maybe they do?

Re: Overland Special Order Questions

I had to poke around a bit to find a dealer that would deal with me, and then had to drive 100 miles to sign a purchase agreement for a car they don't even have. But I knew what I wanted and they had it. My local dealers weren't dealing at all, and one even marks up the Overlands $2,500 over MSRP based on "market conditions."

Black would be my 1st 2nd and 3rd choice...4th would be Charcoal. I saw a Charcoal with Saddle last week and it was beautiful.

I really considered the black on black but the saddle seems a little unique and both of my previous GCs were black on black.
Black cars seem to be a tradition in my family. People always used to say it looked like a funeral at my Grandparents during the Holidays. The driveway was always full of black cars.

The exception would be the Alfas, Fiats, and Panteras that my Dad, Grandfather and Uncles had through the years. They were almost all red (the other color being black of course) but were second cars.

IMHO black and red are the best colors for cars. Black for luxury and red for sports cars.

I have been waiting for months to be able to order saddle, adaptive cruze, and the 720rhr.
