Absolutely.

My issue with the lifetime warranty is the cost....$4,000 is a lot, and on top of the cost of something like an Overland brings the overall cost to where there are other vehicle options...it does away with a lot of the Jeep's value proposition.

Where are you getting it, just negotiating it from the dealer when you buy the Jeep, or is there some other outlet for it?

I got the price from Chrysler warranty's online, then asked my dealer to match it. He did without batting an eye 2050.00 I believe.

Agree with you and I did the same thing got them to $2100 at time of purchase. I typically never buy extended warranties but as I can keep cars up to 10 years I think $2100 is money well spent in this case. A lot of high priced things to go wrong on the higher end grand Cherokees and I have never owned a Chrysler product before. one failed uconnect screen or quadra lift problem and the warranty is probably paid for. There was a guy on another thread today that had a quadra lift problem at 39k miles and the dealer wanted 2k just to rip out the interior to find the leak who knows how much to fix it! he apparently had a non factory warranty so its not covered! too many things that can go wrong $2100 for the life time factory warranty is a bargain if you keep it a long time.

Re: Overland vs. Limited w/ Nav, Luxury, Tow & Off road group: What are the differenc

The Chrysler lifetime warranty was a no-brainer for me. I intend to keep the WK2 for a long while.

If your dealer won't deal, chryslerwarrantys.com is a reliable vendor. Does not matter which dealer you buy it from, it gets attached to your VIN and any servicing dealer can see the warranty info.

I have dealt with third-party warranties in the past, will never make that mistake again (though I did get a check for $95 when the TX AG sued the company that held the extended warranty on my '99 Durango)

This said, with the ever more complex electronics I have to wonder if one will even be able to keep a vehicle. Can you imagine trying to get a new touch screen after 10-12 years? Will they still be made? The rate technology is changing I have my concerns. Since most tech is tied into the car's electrical architecture I tend to think retrofits and repairs may end up being hard to prohibitively expensive.
In 12 years, I will be in the charity home for the feeble minded

I just ran an online qoute for my 2011 Overland with 27700 miles... $2400 with a discount. I am going to call them today to confirm. My current warranty is 8 years/120k for $2300. Iff above is true I am switching (I just bought the current one so I'll get it back)

Kayak Transport is on a distinguished road
Don't forget the lifetime warranty is non transferable, making some of the others more valuable in a sale.
