I'm not going to rehash this on this thread too. I post on a lot of other car forms, and have for 10+ years. Issues happen on every vehicle, but there are an unusual amount of issues here. When you can read through one page of the troubleshooting forum and find 5 instances of a 2014 with less an 500 miles dying on the road or having some other critical electrical failure...that's unusual. When you read more than one story on a forum about a buy back,thats unusual. I can name 5 members here without even thinking that have had their WK2s bight back by Chrysler...one of them the second WK2 he received after the buy back died and had to be flat bedded after 300 miles.
Your JK is not what's at issue here, it's the WK2. My WK2 has easily been the most troublesome vehicle I've ever owned. It had more warranty work done before 25k miles than every other car I've ever owned combined. Those issues have been minor, but there have been a lot of them. With Jeep having no loaners, its been a significant issue for us.
That said...I'm shopping for another one because its really the nicest vehicle in the segment by a wide margin. I would not at all make the statement that its "reliable" though, and I would never own one without a warranty. That's why I'm replacing mine, the warranty is almost up and it will need tires this winter. Instead of putting $3,000 into this for a warranty and tires I may as well get a new one with a warranty on a lease and ditch it before the warranty ends.
