Now if they weren't charging so much and charged minimal cost to repair and service, I'd say ok I can live with shitty service. But at premium price you receive the shit end of the stick constantly, ummmm I'd rather go else where.

Porsche is expensive but you get what you pay for. The dealers are far more receptive and willing to resolve issues immediately. My father drives a Porsche Cayenne and I took it in for service for him before and boy what a pleasure it was. When you mention warranty, it is immediately resolved, no ifs or buts. None of the well did you experience it once or twice cuz warranty only helps after the 3rd time you experience a problem lol.

I also own a GX470 and Lexus dealership is always willing to work with me on resolving issues warranty or not. Never had a single issue where they told me to contact Toyota directly. Not even my toyota service department ever told me to go see toyota directly. I own 2 corollas and TSBs were taken care of wether you experience the issue or not. If only my jeep was given the same respect by Chrysler :'(.
By the way, I specifically said "Audi" because I bought my JGC Overland from an Audi dealer. This was after dealing with several Jeep dealers, each of them consistently charging considerably more than the advertised prices, wasting my time and generally being unpleasant. Meanwhile, the Audi dealership was the opposite. Their price was their price and they were great to deal with from beginning to end. If they had an actual comparable vehicle I would have paid a premium for it.

But ultimately, here's the rub: Jeep is now asking people to pay $50-60k+ for a new vehicle with all the goods. That is considerably more than many luxury brands charge for their vehicles, granted with less capabilities, but still. Indeed, that Porsche I'm considering is only around $80k, which considering that I'm already looking at $60k isn't THAT much of a stretch. So something is going to have to give. They can't keep providing a "hey bub, take it or leave it" type of service to people spending that kind of money. They will in fact leave it as I'm looking to do.

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

Absolutely I would & I traded a 2011 4 Runner for my 2011 Jeep. My question for the OP would be: Have you driven both the 4 Runner and a JGC? If you have there is no comparison on ride quality which is the main reason I got rid of the 4 Bumper when I did, I couldn't stand being bounced around anymore. Also the interior of the JGC is much nicer compared to the interior of the 4 Runner. In the end I understand you should get what suits the needs of your family -so good luck to you

I agree, I've had to spend thousands in mods on my WK2 just to feel special again Not sure I feel special enough yet, maybe more stuff will help!

This is my fifth GC and yup I would do it all again. I've had plenty of luxury suvs and they spent more time in the shop than all of my Grands.....ok maybe not all of them...the SRT loved to spend time in the shop. I may have been the teensiest bit hard on it, but I'm not admitting anything!

Yes, without question my favorite vehicle I have owned. April 2014 build even with no known major issues.

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

The best bar none tow vehicle I've ever had. With a 2720 TrailManor attached the MPG only drops to 17-18, rig gets better MPG and is more capable than a number of cars I've had. Really shines as a road car with two seats and a lot of luggage space.

Bought our first the first January this year and it protected my pregnant wife when someone blew a stoplight at speed. Bought our second the last week of January and couldn't be happier. We did change from an overland to summit and v6 to v8 but kept all else the same, even color.

You need a "Hell Yes!" option on your poll. I have a 2012 Laredo Hemi and it has been flawless.

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

My wife and I drove a 4Runner Limited and the Infiniti QX70 AWD to compare with the JGC Overland 4X4. The 4 Runner engine, tranny and interior were too truck like and basic for us. The Infiniti was very car like, but I couldn't stand the CVT and it had zero off road capability and was 6K more expensive. Ended up getting the JGC Overland 4wd with ACC and rear entertainment. Ordered it and received within 5 weeks and paid invoice.
This I the first domestic vehicle we have owned in 12 years (Audi, Infiniti, Honda) and we had multiple issues BEFORE delivery. Liftgate, input button on steering wheel faulty, ASC module replaced, paint issue on inside of Liftgate. Luckily, I was well educated by this forum on what to look for and they fixed it all before we signed anything. While extremely frustrating because for a 50k vehicle you expect quality control to be better, we have had no issues for the first 2K miles (knock on wood).
It was compounded by the fact that the dealer told me I got COST on the extended service contract, but when I showed him the Ziegler quote he magically came off the price to match theirs. When thy paid off my trade in they mailed the check to the wrong address (likely story) and I had Infiniti Financial asking me unneeded questions.
Would I buy again? I'll answer in 5 years based on its reliability.....from this dealer? No, never.

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

Yep - the two issues that Jeep needs to improve to really improve their company are:

(1) Continue to tighten up on quality control at both the vendor and assembly level.

(2) Improve the dealer network/experience.

The products themselves are great. Oh and perhaps a third issue, deliver an ordered vehicle within 3 weeks!
