Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

Bought a GC in 2010, in September. Expected some issues as it was an early build on a completely rebuild chassis. It didn't let me down as there were issues. Luckily I had a great dealer and service department. Yeah, I drank a lot of their coffee. :-) Those issues aside, this has been a great vehicle. Great for road trips and with the hemi getting 19+ mpg I can't complain.
Wanted something a bit smaller to tow my boat with so I've ordered a 2015 Cherokee Limited. Should have no problem towing a 4000# pontoon.

Just my $.02 worth.

Issue 1 does not work well with issue 3 me thinks .

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

I just started experiencing transmission issues once again with my later built (12/13) 2014 GC Overland 4x4 with the V6...so if I could vote "NO" twice I would.

Damn it...Now My 2014 Overland Has A Transmission Issue!

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

Greetings,

I have an early build 2011 that now has just over 45k on it. To date, I had to have to 2 wheel bearings replaced around 21k. Now, I am waiting to have the brake booster replaced as per the recall. I also might be experiencing problems with TIPM. After the brake booster is replaced, I will look into this problem. My other headache is the FOB has to be reprogrammed once in a while.

I have a co worker that pickup a 2013 Pathfinder that turned out to be a complete lemon. It spent over 30 days of total shop time. He eventually gave it back for a 2014 Mazda CX 9. One of my neighbors is always have problems with his GMC Envoy.

Since the birth of the automobile, it is vary rare do you find a perfect vehicle.

OP, my advise to you is simple, if the JGC fits your needs and requirements for the future, then the new build you are getting should be better than the early 2014 that some folks have complained about at this point. The important key and it seams to be the same with other car bands, to find a service department that knows how to respect you as customer and knows how to service the vehicle correctly.

As the poll shows, the vast majority of us, including me will purchase this vehicle again.

Best for now.

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

Our JGC Overland Diesel w/ORAII and AT, is a "Valentines Day" 2014 build and we both love it !

We've had ZERO problems from new, almost 10k miles on it which includes 4k, 2.5k and a couple of 1k road trips. The 4k included Death Valley and over the Sierra's without an issue. We have other long road trips (a couple of 4k's) coming up shortly and we have no qualms about the vehicle and would absolutely buy it again...

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

I think this thread is really telling. Every time the subject of Jeep problems comes up, many point to the belief that more people turn to online forums when they have issues than when things are all peachy keen.

Whether or not that is true, here we are on an internet forum, nearly 90% of the respondents say they would buy again. In an industry with so many choices, I'd think any CEO would be thrilled with those results. Jeep is doing something right!

If they would just come up with a more comfortable seat and bring back the flipper glass their numbers would be through the roof.

No questions I'd buy another GC! 15k and no problems other than software uconnect issues, really like the jeep and think it's a great value!

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

The poll is running 13% against buying another JGC. How I truly wish I was in the other 87% that would buy again.

This is ironic in that this is my 4th Jeep. I bought this 2012 JGC based on my 265,000 miles of nearly trouble free enjoyment of my 1995 JGC. I'd gladly trade places with any of you that are in the 87% camp.

It is frustrating and extremely embarrassing when I have passengers and they ask why the Jeep is jerking like it is and I have to tell them that Chrysler doesn't know and won't fix it. Most of them say something like "I'd sue them". Sure, and waste another pile of money on that waste of time.

Eh, don't worry about it. If I could vote "HELL YES" twice I would, so we'd just cancel each other out.

Obviously ZheWiz you got a jeep that runs OK. I doubt you would vote yes twice if you were in the same position as some of us who have $40k+ in a vehicle that does not run right that is still under full warranty and Chrysler won't/can't fix it.

So you don't think people should see both sides of the coin? Yes there are trouble vehicles out there and that sucks. But reading around Jeep Garage you'd think EVERYONE hates their Jeep. Nice to see a poll like this that keeps things in perspective.
