Painted Antenna Reception

I've recently got the roof painted on my 2015 JGC black. They painted the antenna as well as it was originally white.

Now all I'm getting is static and no HD radio stations.

Could the paint block the signals? or is a connection loose

That would eliminate the possibility of military grade stealth paint--those are more of a matte finish.

If it was working perfectly until you had it painted, have you contacted the folks who painted it?

When you pulled it apart, did you see any paint where it should not have been, as in leaked down into the innards?

Something else is definitely wrong.

Paint shouldn't affect anything unless they threw some old lead paint from the 60's on there. Automotive paint should be RF transparent.

Don't forget, the signal has to travel miles to get to your car - a little paint won't hurt. Otherwise, your cell phone wouldn't work inside your vehicle cabin.
