Re: Panic Alarms, has any of u ever used it?

Mine seems to go off all the time. The only time I ever used it on purpose was when some church people came knocking on my door. I didn't answer the door but looked out the window to see a guy with his hands cupped around his eyes and his nose pressed against the window of my new jeep. When I hit the panic alarm, he took off running.

My old Honda fob had a small panic alarm button that almost required a thumbnail to push it in. Never had a problem with that one going off accidentally

Re: Panic Alarms, has any of u ever used it?

I think that "everyone" will set it off every once in awhile just due to the button getting pressed inadvertently in some way. With any luck, nobody will actually have to use it for a real "panic" situation...

Re: Panic Alarms, has any of u ever used it?

Other than an inadvertent pocket activation, I've never had a panic attack where it was needed.

Re: Panic Alarms, has any of u ever used it?

Ok, it's accidentally happened to me a couple of times. The real problem for me was how to shut it off quickly. What is the proper way to shut it off quickly?

Thanks young man. Can't remember if I did that but I must have since I finally got it to stop.

Re: Panic Alarms, has any of u ever used it?

Panic buttons are largely useless with most of today's cars since so many have keyless ignitions. They served a safety purpose when people still carried their keys in their hands and were physically holding the remote. Now, they just serve as a car locator when you cannot remember where you parked. And an annoyance when you pocket press the panic button, which I manage to do too often.

The only time I have intentionally hit panic was to find my car in a maze at an amusement park and in an airport parking garage.

What's this "inadvertent pocket activation" you speak of? I don't have that issue....

I hook mine to my belt loop since it's a pain to get to the trunk release when my hands are full of shopping bags at the grocery store. I can just tap it twice with my thumb as I'm approaching. No more digging in my pocket to get it out.

The nice thing is, my Post Office box is at exactly the right height to access with the key I have hooked to the fob.

The little white tab is the hanger for the lock box I keep my vehicle and other keys in inside the garage. With multiple vehicles, it's easier to store them locked out there than having to worry about where the set of keys I need are. Plus, I never have to take house keys with me on vacation. I just lock everything up and put the keys in the box, then leave through the garage.

Re: Panic Alarms, has any of u ever used it?

Mine is on a belt-loop, too, but there have been situations when it still got "environmentally pressed".
