Re: Panoramic Roof

I have the panoramic roof and the mopar rack. After reinstalling the rack that the dealer had placed on backward, it looks good and remains quiet at all the speeds i've driven. What sort of problems are you concerned about?

Re: Panoramic Roof

I love my pano sunroof. Got it on the Laredo X, bought used (7k miles). Haven't had any issues.

Re: Panoramic Roof

Interesting, in my City most all dealer stock fully equipped Limited, Overlands, Summits have the Rr Enter System which is a major Negative to me.
No Kids home would much rather have the Pano Roof. I would have probably bought dealer stock if they had Overland w Pano Roof in stock.

Re: Panoramic Roof

Get the roof. Tint it darker if necessary. You'll thank yourself.

Re: Panoramic Roof

After my old ZJ was flooded twice b/c moonroof rain clogged interior started to stink. So this time I specifically wanted a car without a moonroof at all. Plus pano roof is so large that I consider it to be a safety hazard in case of rollover, especially that there is nothing except the thin material under the glass (my old ZJ had pretty sturdy plastic).

There have been several reports on this and another forum related to moonroof leaks. On WK2 it is really a bad thig to happen considering all the electronics, a lot of which is in the roof itself and upper console. People reported water dripping from upper console.

Pretty sure they wouldn't release a roof like that if they didn't have some safety built into it.

Re: Panoramic Roof

The pano roof is one of my favorite things about the car (my "favorite things about the car list" is getting to be pretty long though)

Re: Panoramic Roof

Even with the pano roof the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates all WK2s at their highest rating for rollover.

Yeah - I called my insurance agent yesterday to put my new Summit on my insurance and to take off our 2003 BMW 330Ci Convertible. Seeing as the BMW is worth maybe $14k and the new Jeep is around $45k, I figured my insurance would go up since the cost the insurer would be a lot more if the Jeep were totaled.

Imagine my (pleasant) shock when they told me my rates would go down $36 a month!

Re: Panoramic Roof

you have to choose between a pano or dvd player.. I personally like the pano.. dvd is more expensive but nice for someone that has two kids.
