My head absolutely has not exploded. My frustration has never come from one instance of a fuel door being installed in the wrong color, its just the latest examples of many such issues posted about here.

If you can show me on a Porsche forum where you have 5 threads about production defects in 2 months...my head might explode.

At the numbers of 991s produced vs. GCs the percentage of errors might not be that different.

You're reaching. The JGC is not an incredibly high volume vehicle...many other vehicles are sold and produced at that volume and more. Whether you accept it or not, Chrysler has QC issues that need to be addressed both in assembly and on the dealer level, especially if they want to be taken seriously alongside luxury makes as they have said they want to be. The mere fact that you have so many people who have great problem free units and those of us who have a lot of problems...without a lot of middle ground...shows you that consistency is a problem for Jeep.

Once again you divert. You asked for a comparison of problems between Porsche and Jeeps. It was pointed out that there are significant production volume differences IN THAT COMPARISON. The one you asked for. Instead of acknowledging that, you obfuscate by saying "many other vehicles are sold and produced at that volume"...meaning Jeeps volume. But note...you weren't asking for a comparison of THOSE vehicles.

I'll give you credit for having an uncanny ability to use logical fallacy to make your arguments appear more valid than they are (and you do have some validity...just not to the overwhelming scale you put forth).

Re: Pay close attention on that walkthrough!!

I'm not making any such comparisons...nor am I saying about "overwhelming scale". One persons anecdote anyways tells us nothing about Porsche. I've said, we're not talking about one Jeep issue here. They are all over the forum. You guys keep trying to say I'm making all these generalizations to discredit me, All I have ever said is that Jeep has issues with consistent QC. Moreso than many other brands. The evidence is there...JD Power results, Consumer Report results. The many posts on this forum. The best argument you fanboys can mount is "it happens just as much to other brands"...when there is nothing but evidence that shows that's not really the case. The most ridiculous argument is that "if you wanted the Jeep to be better built it would cost a lot more" like the Jeep is some sort of an economy car...ridiculous.

Find me some data or source that would lead anyone to believe that Chrysler/Jeep initial quality (satisfaction with vehicles at new) or reliability is even at the industry average. There is none. You can say it's gotten better, but I would argue that the 2014 has been a huge step backwards from a place that was improved but had a long way left to go as it was.

If the best thing you can say is "they aren't the worst" that's a problem to me. I was prepared for a vehicle built more poorly and less reliable than I was used to...but I wasn't prepared for what my Jeep has been when you take all the things I love about it out of the equation. It's just not a quality vehicle unfortunately.

Is this why the 2014 JGC is the number one selling vehicle of millionaires? Seems to me that it is very much taken seriously as a luxury vehicle.

I do agree that there are QC issues that need to be addressed, but no more so than any other auto maker. As pointed out, Porsche, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, Lexus, BMW, and even Rolls Royce has some QC issues. Fact is that every mass produced product will have QC issues. Even Apple has had QC issues with its computers and iPhones. Yes, they can be improved upon, but it happens, and will always happen with mass production. In a perfect world we would not have this, but in reality, there will be issues - at least Jeep is addressing and fixing them.

Even you...your sig says "2014.5 Jeep" There is no such thing. By putting 2014.5 on your signature you're differentiating yourself from 2014 owners. Why
I list it as a 2014.5 because it has the adaptive cruise with stop, which the early builds do not have.

You dont have to sell me the vehicle, I already bought it. It's a great vehicle in many ways, my unit is poorly bult and unreliable. I wish it wasn't.

People like me that are used to luxury cars though are going to be the most pissed off with inconveniences. The dealerships are not up to par. The most important thing to a buyer like this is convenience. Right now the Jeep is an incredible value...it competes because it is far cheaper than the next reasonable competitor. If Jeep really wants to move further upmarket, they have to address these issues.

Quote:

No. There are surveys and independent data that assess these things and those findings are incompatible with this statement. None of these source even list Jeep as being average by any metric...other carmakers are rated as highly above average.

No such thing as a 2014.5

I've always stated that my 2014 GC has been the most problematic vehicle I've owned...compared to all the others I've owned in the past.

I've never stated Jeep vehicles have the most overall problems of any manufacturer.

Get your facts straight Mr. Eight posts.

I know you're not grouping me into any of these non-select group of people...

I usually post in "problem" threads that I have personal experience with when it comes to my 2014 GC. I also have posted many times in "good threads" as well, offering tips & suggestions...and I have 24 "Thanks" to prove it.

And I will continue to post on this site about any problems I have with my Jeep, even if the Fanboys don't like it.
