Because no other factory produces 1,200 units a day

Excuses, excuses guys. I know you love your Jeeps, I love mine but obviously QC needs some work.

Just trying to figure out what you consider a lot. I think this is the first mismatched gas cover reported on a '14 (there may have been more) and people think it would make good business sense to spend thousands of dollars on more equipment to prevent it.

Any business has to do a cost benefit analysis every step of the way. The cost of perfection is way too high, when people are so money conscious they'll travel hundreds of miles to save a few bucks.

You are delusional if you think this doesn't happen to every manufacturer. Just because your last single sample of (insert various European/Japanese manufacturer here) didn't have a wrong-part issue doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Go to any manufacturer enthusiast forum and you will find exactly threads like this...

That's just the thing. I read a lot of car forums, and have for 10+ years. I love cars and I enjoy reading about and talking about them. I spend multiple hours a day reading and posting on forums for a wide variety of makes.

You don't see these issues on other manufacturer forums, mismatched doors, missing or mismatched parts, my Jeeps sunroof drains were never hooked up at the factory. The threads are everywhere here. They aren't other places

I'm sure it happens on the line, but the cars don't make it to the customer the way they do with the Jeep.

You're only seeing what you want to see, or you're flat out lying (for whatever personal reason). Remember the day and age you live in. A set of simple, no frills google searches quickly makes your statement false. Try it. I have...it's quite simple:

(Insert any vehicle make/model here) problems

Very easy. Do just a little reading and you'll find ALL kinds if issues, from BMWs with rattling exhaust gates and crashing nav/radio software to Range Rovers with suspension problems to Lexus vehicles with bad engine noises. Read and you'll find all these complaints. On new vehicles. It happens. Hell there are videos of some of these issues on YouTube.

This is boring. I don't know what the motivation is for a few of the individuals here who just endlessly talk like this. QC is awful. No others have these problems. Blah blah blah. Super defensive if anyone points out if the numbers (real statistics on number of issues per 100 cars) don't support that "nobody else has these issues." It's old. I'm really starting to think there are some people here with legitimate problems, and then there are some which could potentially be "brand plants"...those that are here to slam the Jeep brand for the benefit of other brands. They ARE out there and it is a known tactic. I wonder that because this is just getting too ridiculously predictable, without really any logic or facts to back the comparisons up.

Re: Pay close attention on that walkthrough!!

I just did a quick search on the 2014 RRS....already problems with the front mount intercoolers, airbags(4000 recalled rrs)LEAKING sunroofs(lol....again?) and front parking sensors. My wifes boss' LR4 has been in 2x already for leaking sunroof(laugh inside myself) and leaking windshield and its still not solved. In 2013 LR/RR had 220 problems per 100 vehicles! So in one year they have solved ALL those problems? Check this out and these guys are paying $100k plus for their RR sports!
2014 Range Rover SC Formal List of Grievances.

Everyone just go buy a lexus GX and be done with this argument....LOL. theres no perfect anything in this world. I know Jeep has a long way to go...but they aren't the bottom....

LOL, why would I lie? I'm a Jeep owner just like you ya know. I'm a paid supporter of JG just like you. There's a difference between rattles and engine noises, and cars being shipped with production defects. That's what I'm talking about, Jeeps leaving the factory with production defects. Find a Toyota shipped with misaligned doors, or a Honda with the wrong steering wheel. You won't.

I love my Jeep as much as the next guy, I just get pissed off at these types of problems...we all should be. Why some of you get so butt-hurt is beyond me. It's a car, not your child...get a grip.

Nobody is forcing you to participate.

Anyways, "other manufacturers have problems too" is not a valid argument. As Jeep enthusiasts we should want the brand to be as good as it possibly can be. Valid criticism is not negative, accepting poor quality because we're too blinded by fanboyism to look at things rationally doesn't help the brand get better.

We did the walk-around and the salesman even popped the fuel door. It must have been the sunlight, but I sure didn't notice it and evidently he didn't either. I have to admit that I feel pretty stupid, but I guess it's just not something I was expecting and in that light, it just never caught my eye. Maybe I'll just leave it as it does make my Jeep sort of unique! I thought you all might get a kick out this story.
Yes it was missed at the factory
Thats one thing
But were is the pre delivery
The sales man does not do this its done by pre delivery staff obviously they did't look when washing and detailing the car for delivery
Another reason why i object to paying for pre delivery

Right, it's a failure on multiple levels.

You tell me. I'll demonstrate below how you are cherry-picking statements and misrepresenting to suit your rhetoric.

Quote:

Really? Engine noises typically indicate out-of-spec clearances and defects. Sounds like production problems to me. Plus, I note how you didn't comment on the other issues I found with a two minute search. Straight off the assembly line defects. Oh, but wait...you cherry-picked.

Quote:
Find a Toyota shipped with misaligned doors, or a Honda with the wrong steering wheel.
Found both! And more. Simple google search. You should try it sometime. Toyotas with misaligned doors came up instantly under "Toyota misaligned door." Lots of them. Wrong steering wheel was harder but I found that too.

Quote:
You won't.
But you will. You keep making these statements which are just what I said...lies. Either you simply believe what you're saying without actually checking the facts, or you have some motive that we don't know about.

Quote:
I love my Jeep as much as the next guy, I just get pissed off at these types of problems...we all should be. Why some of you get so butt-hurt is beyond me. It's a car, not your child...get a grip.
It has nothing to do with being hurt. It's dm disturbing to see people like you lie and misrepresent, for whatever reason you have. See above...lies. No other way to put it.

Quote:
Anyways, "other manufacturers have problems too" is not a valid argument.
Then tell me, why do you keep using false statements about other brands (as above) to make points? You keep comparing other brands to Jeep and keep claiming they don't have these issues. Then, when it is pointed out to you that your statements are provably false, suddenly the fact that other manufacturers DO have these issues is "not the point." You can't have it your way but not the other my friend. If your interest is in seeing the Jeep brand improve, stop lying to people by claiming these issues are only found in Jeeps with these false statements of other brands' supposed quality and lack of defects.

Quote:
Valid criticism is not negative, accepting poor quality because we're too blinded by fanboyism to look at things rationally doesn't help the brand get better.
It isn't being a "fanboy" to disapprove of a person who is making false comparisons, apparently with the hope that the casual observer won't fact check. Your conclusions and so called "statements of fact" are EASILY disproved with SIMPLE searches. Yet, you keep making the same claims. Why is this? Are you hoping if you simply say the lies enough times they will come true? Working towards better quality is always a good thing. Falsely representing that the existing quality issues never happen to other brands repeatedly seems to indicate you have other less than upfront motives.
