Oh yeah, I used to detail cars back in another life so I always keep my cars incredibly clean. The green really pops when it's clean.

I get it too even though mine is almost 1 year old and there are zillions of them around here now.

Re: People LOVE this Jeep...

I have to agree on how good looking the WK2 Grand is regardless of price points. Heck, that's what made me go look at one to begin with! Even a base Laredo looks sharp and that is priced in the range of a lot of boring competitors with most not nearly as capable. To me the telltale sign that this vehicle is a hit is that so many teenagers notice it. Although, that notoriety makes me a bit nervous when I see teens checking it out in a parking lot when I walk out of a store.

Anybody else have this experience?

It would seem my taste in cars is improving LOL
Maybe it's YOU that they want to talk with!

I don't get any of what you described.

Re: People LOVE this Jeep...

No actually. I (we) turn our cars fairly often. As a result I often hear "now what are you driving?". I am often amazed the negative response whan I say "I got a Jeep"..until I usher them out, open the door, let 'em see the Summit interior and proclaim there is a Hemi under the hood.
From there the usual reaction is "I cannot believe what they have done with this thing, the old ones sucked.."
I am not making that up. If it happened once, it happened 10 times...

Same here!! I have been driving 17 years now and I have owned 18 cars. This Jeep has been by far one of my favorites yet.

Hasn't happened with the WK2 yet, but it happens constantly with my new Audi A5. People go out of their way to tel me how much they like the looks of that car.

I think the WK2 is already too common around here. We have at least 10 of them just in my townhouse developement alone...

Welcome back MSCA. Hasn't been the same around here without you. Props for pulling the trigger on two new vehicles.

Re: People LOVE this Jeep...

Thanks. One new (Audi) and one used (WK2). And I still have the 4Runner as well. Long story short, I bought the WK2 from my Aunt for a steal. She was going to get killed on a trade-in, so I offered her cash for it instead.

Re: People LOVE this Jeep...

Well...here in NY people don't usually comment on anything less than a Diablo or restored MG-TF. Audi A8's and M cars are like popcorn. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. So the new Jeep MIGHT get a reaction because of the makeover. I used to get complements on my Subaru Tribeca with the 1st grill. It was downright odd and people really liked it.
I don't see many of the new Grand Cherokees here though and I'm on the road quite a bit.

I'm in NY and I have to say that while Audi isn't exactly a rare brand, the A5 is actually a somewhat rare vehicle. It's almost impossible to buy one off the lot because dealerships don't stock many of them. And if you want a manual trans A5 like mine, then you have to order it from Germany and wait for monhs until it arrives. It's rare for me to see another A5 on the road around here. The WK2 must be selling very well because I see tons of them. Maybe that's why my Audi gets so many compliments and my WK2 does not. They are both great looking vehicles though...
