Yep - I understand that, as I stated "and I could be wrong since you all are looking for brand new refresh models... but I'd aim for a little lower than 1% under invoice." When I bought my 2012, the 2013's hadn't even started being built yet.

Just understand that Employee Pricing is around 5% under invoice, no matter what model/year it is. So the dealerships have the ability to go lower, especially if you bring it to their attention that you're interested in purchasing 5+ vehicles. Whether or not the demand is high enough to negotiate that much, I guess you'll find out.

Re: People ordering new Jeeps in Colorado -- Please Reply

UPDATE -- Got 2 people who have emailed, so 3 including me. Once we get to 5, I'll start contacting dealers. Also, it doesn't matter if you are looking at CRD -- I am too! Don't worry about the timing -- most I think are aiming to order sometime in middle or end of February.

Basically what I would do is make sure we all have our affliate rewards numbers to get a guaranteed 1% below invoice... then I will contact dealers and say, if I bring in 5 orders, what can you do? I have no doubts we could get 2% below, or maybe even lower. So we will be guaranteed 1% and then if "x" amount of people come in by the delivery of our vehicles and place an order, they will guarantee whatever additional discount. So it will be contingent on all of us placing orders or following through. Make sense? So theoretically I could go in and place an order, and someone else could go in several weeks later, it doesn't really matter.

Worst case is we get 1% below, best case 3% below maybe?

Win-Win.

email me if you are interested, I will coordinate everything! -- jlantis@comcast.net

Hey guys, I'll throw this out there too.... if you are in neigboring states not too far away and want to get in our on group buy as well, I would be more than willing to pick people up from the airport and give them a transfer to whatever dealer we order with to pick up their Jeep and drive back home. If we can 2-3% below invoice, its definitely worth the time.

Update: I have a firm offer from a dealer for $1500 below invoice, and no dealer fees. Just invoice, minus $1500, plus $995 destination. This beats Pat @ Fields offer significantly. I have a few more dealers to talk to, but will let you guys know once I finalize everything and will send along all the details!

Per my emails to you James, I'm definitely in on the group buy in CO! I'm through trying to negotiate with dealers in my area; none will go below 1% off invoice (standard Tread Lightly discount that any dealer will honor). I might take you, or someone, up on the offer to pick me up at the airport should this deal go through. My other option is getting a rental car via Priceline for a one-way trip - I've scored some really cheap rentals off that site, and it would probably be cheaper to do that than buying last-minute airfare. Great work on setting up the group buy!

Hey guys, down to two dealers, and trying to get something in writing from 1 or both of them... they have been a bit slow to respond lately. As soon as I get it, I will email those who have contacted me and post on the forum.

So $1500 under invoice then you have to add on the destination fee? If that is the case, your at $505 under invoice which isn't much.

$995 destination gets added on to any order, that's not a negotiable item at any dealer. Dealer I am working with is now at $1750 under invoice with no dealer fees. It's probably better than most 4% under invoice deals.

I gotcha. I will tell you the deal I got from the dealer I will be going with. Before TTL and dealer fee, I am at 5% under invoice (that is including $995) with 4 free oil changes.

Really? Do you know someone? Post the numbers... something doesn't smell quite right. Unless they are doing a $1000 dealer fee.

5% is employee pricing and the dealer will lose money on it, so somehow they are being funny with the numbers.
