No, I don't know anyone at the dealership. I've been contacting dealers for about 2 weeks now. The best deal before monday was 4.3%. I told this dealer they had to come back with atleast 4% otherwise I would walk. They came back with that offer. I told him I wanted a break down of the numbers. They are supposedly the #1 volume dealer north of Milwaukee, WI.

I thought that something wouldn't look right until I got the numbers.

MSRP $43,585
My price=$39,382 (including destination fee)+$195 service fee+$1,978.86tax+$174 new plates=$41,730

That's pretty damn good -- assuming that is what you write the check for. But I have a feeling some numbers got mixed up along the way somewhere. Even if they are a huge volume dealer, they are still going to lose money on that deal.... pretty sure at least. Looks like you are a little more than $1000 below what I can get, and I thought I was rock bottom. Might double check that the $995 destination fee is included in your price.

Also, what is your sales tax rate there? Seems awfully low. So do the plates... I'm expecting about $5,000 on taxes and registration on my $50k overland order. I'm in Colorado.

Sales tax is 5%. Title and License shouldn't actually be more than $150.

The dealer isn't losing money because it is a sold order, so they don't pay anything for it. Everything they get afterwards is pure profit. What is on a dealers lot not sold is what they pay for.

Man I wish we had those rates here... I gotta pay 7.6% tax and nearly $1000 for title and registration the first year.

You pay that extra 2.6% tax for the extra sunny days you get here. Nothing is free, you know.

Delaware has no sales tax on anything. So to raise money they put a 3.75% "Documentation Fee" on motor vehicles. That does not include registration.

But I moved here in '05 from Long Island, so no worries.

Plus, my trade in is $35,000, so my total "tax" will be less than $500.
