Well, I'm sure those that are having problems are really proud to have you as their champion.

Will you also congratulate them and Jeep when their problems are resolved, or do you just live to bash?

And BTW, I had a 2000 Cherokee until 2 weeks ago that had 131K miles on it when I sold it. Guess what, you are NOT "special".

This is where I will intervene as a mod, each poster is entitled to their opinion which is what makes this forum so great, attacking a poster for his opinion or posts, makes the forum counterproductive. Let's get this topic back on track and drop the argument guys/girls.

I will be the first person to jump up and down that Jeep has ironed out these issues. I love my Jeep, and I would love to have the confidence to just walk in and pull the trigger on a 2014 but I can't do that...and that is Chrysler's fault for not building a product that is consistently reliable. Go back through my posts, before I started having problems I was a HUGE fan.

No brand new 2014 vehicle should be delivered in the state that Deception's was...with no solution in sight! He should be out enjoying his Jeep.

Thats great, I have a 2011 Grand Cherokee with 45k miles on it now. My Grand Cherokee is 90+% the same identical as the 2014 Grand Cherokee we are discussing. Your 2000 Cherokee is 0% identical...as in not at all. So...who has more experience from which to discuss the WK2 Grand Cherokee?

I've owned several jeeps and was a huge supporter, until I got my 14 GC. I'm just so disappointed in the multitude of issues I've had. I am at the dealer several times a month consistently. I completely regret the purchase. My advice to Deception is to ditch it while you can and buy something more reliable, because your current and first issue is just the beginning. It's just a shame that such an awesome vehicle was put out with so many issues. I'll never buy Crysler again.

Did Jeep fire the Quality people? How does a car pass final inspection, get driven onto the transport, delivered to the dealer without any notice of its turdworthiness?

I have had my Summit for 1 months and almost 4000 miles. It is a 12/14 build. Nothing but smiles. Hopefully that did not jinx me...
It doesn't. We hired more, I've stated this on the forum a few times. I've made a few U-Turns from the ship line myself. Here's the thing: They're released and then transported. As soon as it goes out the door, our hands are off. Who knows what these vehicles go through. We don't even know, only releasing/transport.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck there. I'd feel the same way if I was going several times a month. Are they just reliability/durability/electronic issues or build issues?

I've had a total electrical failure, quadra lift failure, never ending CEL, and premature wearing of the leather on my driver seat. Those are the major issues I have. I do have minor ones as well with fit and finish. It's a parade of frustration.

Re: Picking up a brand new 14, need opinions!

Deception & pensfan, I hope you get your issues worked out or the vehicle replaced.

My dealer has been VERY accommodating so far. They called this afternoon and said that the DEF line was pinched. Not sure how it made it 50 miles without an error occurring, but whatever. The line has been replaced but they are having trouble resetting the EVIC error message. Hopefully I will get it back tomorrow. I am not going to let this one issue change my mind, although this morning it felt like I took a gut shot. I waited 14 weeks, couple of days will not hurt.

Mine hasn't seemed to care. They sold me the car, brought it back, had it reset, acted up again and the manager could only say "Oh these cars are full of issues" no sorry, no we'll do our best to get your car back, no sorry we sold you a lemon, nothing.

What town?, I grew up in B'Ham.

Not that this is the best way, but does MI have a "Lemon Law"? IL does, I looked it up just in case. Hopefully that is the last time I have to think that way.

Re: Picking up a brand new 14, need opinions!

Deception,

I am feeling for your issue right now. I just re-read the whole string and your attitude did a complete about-face from 3/19 till 3/25. Upbeat looking forward to completely pissed off. I, currently, am still in the upbeat stage even though my GC has an "issue". What I can read between the lines is that the difference, so far, is my dealer is going out of their way to take care of me, while yours is telling you, you are number 1. F-U in other words.

Re: Picking up a brand new 14, need opinions!

Yeah dealers make all the difference in these situations. I've not found one that I would consider good. I have one thats "okay".

I never feel like its the dealer's responsibility to apologize for the product, they didn't make it, but a little compassion and understanding goes a long way. A simple "Sorry for all of this!" means a lot I know...

Know its not limited to Jeep dealers. I had a situation last month when the Lexus dealer I've used for years damaged my Lexus when washing it. They ultimately took responsibility and made it right, but dealing with the manager who was rude and condescending, accusatory that it was somehow my fault that their carwash ground all the road salt on the car into the paint...certainly not the premium treatment I expect.
