Pics of Headliner - Pano Sunroof vs Single Pane vs no Sunroof

One of the first things I'll want when I get my JGC (finally) is a pet barrier. The Mopar one that I find says it won't work in models with the pano roof. I want to determine the feasibility of a work-around. Can some kind volunteers please post pictures of the headliner in your WK2's, particularly the part of the headliner over the cargo area?

What I'm looking for is something to compare to this:

Even better would be photos from the driver's side rear seat looking at the area just forward of the hatch door, since that's where the Mopar barrier looks like it bolts to the roof structure through the headliner.

Thanks in advance

Not sure if these help.

Here are two really bad ones I was able to get. I'll try for a few more in the light this afternoon. Both taken from the back seat drivers side.

Just go with this, no drilling and should work with the sunroof. I don't have one but it looks like a better way to go.

Re: Pics of Headliner - Pano Sunroof vs Single Pane vs no Sunroof

Awesome. Thanks a bunch, SNUKE and jbjones85. From what I can tell, the contours of the headliners look identical in that area.

kbre, I've seen the travall pet barrier. Seems like they're hard to find, and I don't care for how they mount. Odd as it seems, I'd rather drill holes than deform and scratch up the panels.

Ultimately, I'd like a solution like what I have in my '03 Saturn Vue, but I can't find anything like it available for the JGC.

muzhik, what you have to be really careful about with the pano is that the cover retracts back into the area that you may be drilling. If you go with the guard you like in the OP, you may need to be creative and provide an alternate mounting method for the top...perhaps a rail that goes across and fastens to the sides near the top. (Avoiding anything connected with air bags, etc.) There's a lot of "stuff" to avoid in today's vehicles!

I hadn't thought of the cover. There's a good chance that's the issue. In my Vue, the Saturn accessory pet net that I have only installs in models NOT equipped with side curtain airbags.

Thank you for your thought-provoking post. I guess I won't know what I'm up against until I get my JGC and do some exploratory surgery. It's OK, though. I've taken apart all of my new toys for kicks since I was a kid.

Yea, that cover is big and it retracts all the way back when you want the full pano experience. It will not appreciate any screws interfering with its travel...

Re: Pics of Headliner - Pano Sunroof vs Single Pane vs no Sunroof

Wondering if someone can post some detailed photos of the mounting points for the Mopar pet barrier as shown in Post 1 above. What do the mounting points look like with the barrier removed from the car - do they come with nice caps that can cover the holes when the barrier is not in the car?

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know of a good pet barrier for behind the front seats? My puppies are too big to fit in the back.

Theres a company out of Australia that offers a cargo barrier that works both behind the rear seats and can be moved to behind the front seats. I've done lots of searching for a commercially made product besides the travail pet barrier. Shipping hear to the states might be the issue.
