Plastidip

Just got finished with my first experience of plastidip. I wanted to try it out on something small first so I did my jeep emblem on the hood. Love the results and it was super easy to use. I used 4 coats of black and 2 coats of gloss

I recommend it eibyer. It was a lot easier to use than I thought and if you mess it up the best part is you can peel it off and try again. I got a can of black and a can of gloss for $8 each at lowes so it's a really inexpensive way to customize

Re: Plastidip

Did you do it in the morning 'cause it's freakin hot out lol. Good to know that they carry the gloss at Lowe's.

Yea I did it at around 11 this morning in the shade of my carport. I live in phoenix so it was like 104 when I was painting it so the dip dried in like 5 mins. But no problems due to the heat but I know you shouldn't apply dip in direct sunlight.

Re: Plastidip

I had it on mine on the hood trunk and side for a year with no issues. Just took it off for all gloss black emblems

Re: Plastidip

I'm in Apache Junction that's why I asked you what time you did it lol. It's too hot by the time I get out of work. I'll see what happens over the weekend, I'm tagging along with some folks to Butcher Jones cove.

Re: Plastidip

Plasti Dip becomes addicting, like tattoos. Once you do one you want more. (Tattoos just don't peel off though)
Dipped font grill
Front Emblems
Rear Emblems
Front lower air dam chrome
Rear brow.

Next up:
Headlight eyeliner
Side molding

Maybe list:
Window trim

Re: Plastidip

Hey nubby I totally agree I did my front emblem last week and since then I have just been wanting to dip all the chrome. what's your experience with the glossifier? I went to clean my car this morning and when I was drying around the emblem the 3 coats of glossifier seems to fade. Do you know why? Did I apply it wrong?

I don't use the glossifier. I have read it only last for a short time and becomes flat again. (Just like you said)

Re: Plastidip

Eyeliner this weekend. Tough to tape along the curves. Not exactly happy with the close up. Next nice day off I will probably re-try. (Rain drops on the driver's side)
