Re: Please advise Limited or Overland

The decision between the Overland and Limited really comes down to a comfort level with the QL suspension. While the technology is not new, it is for a Jeep vehicle. There isn't enough data to say whether the system will be reliable beyond the standard warranty period. If this is a long-term vehicle, look into an extended warranty through Chryco. If I was keeping my Overland long-term, yes I would buy an extended warranty.

The only other point others have noted between the Ltd and Overland is the steering wheel, leather vs. leather/wood respectively.

The ODII which was standard on MY11 Overlands w/ the Hemi is only available on the Summit model. Perhaps available with the ORC but I don't recall.

Test drive both to see if you feel a difference in ride quality.

I think you mean Quadra Drive 2 and the Off Road Adventure 2 package. Yes a Summit is fully loaded with all the goodies, the standard Overland can be equipped with QD 2 and ELSD with the ORA 2 package for $995 which is well worth it IMO. There is nothing different about this air system than any other. There has to be a leak in the system there are only three components that function in air suspension, compressor, lines and fittings, and air bags. The entire system is controlled by the ECM but that would throw a code if it were the problem. I would think they would have replaced all of the air struts/bags but it seems they did everything else.

Re: Please advise Limited or Overland

First post.
Just pulled the trigger on a V8 Limited with the Lux. Wanted to stay away from the QL.
I know you can get lifetime warranty but just the thought of spending time back and forth at the service is not worth it. Hopefully I won't regret it.

I think i have i have my trim down limited with QL & ORP2 don't care for two tone wood leather steering wheel and saddle interior on the Overland. Black on Black or MS on Black.

LOL, there's a sentence in there just crying to get out. I think 3 or 4 of them, actually.

Re: Please advise Limited or Overland

I personally preferred the Limited with Overland's options less the wood steering wheel and quadra-lift. I thought the wood steering wheel was a bit much - totally a personal preference. If you like both of those features, the overland is a win for sure.

I'm extremely happy with my v6 limited with the lux pkg and off-road pkg.

Re: Please advise Limited or Overland

Exactly the same thought here. Don't like the wood nor the QL.

Re: Please advise Limited or Overland

Had the wood wheel in my old 2007 GX470 so the Overland is what I wanted. I would have considered the Summit, but I didn't like the dark wood and the orange colored interior.

Re: Please advise Limited or Overland

I didn't see anybody mention it, but getting a WK2 Grand without the QL enables an easier route to adding a lift later on. You can't add a lift to a QL system. This affects more of those who may want to build up their Grands later on, like me. I know the QL gives you lift "when needed", but in the raised mode the QL rides like -- doo doo -- like hard as rocks, IMHO. I've been in a 2" custom raised WK2 Grand and it rode like my stock suspension, just higher up. It's a moot point though for those who aren't planning on modding the suspension.

Air suspension for sure. I wouldn't buy one without it. Good luck.
