Please Forgive Me If I'm Out of Place...

Morning,

I understand I am on a Jeep Forum. I understand most of you like to take whatever Jeep model you have and make it taller. That's awesome! As a Car Enthusiast/Fuel Junkie, I am happy we share a love of cars and such. I however, like to take things closer to the ground, slam them if you will. Is there a section on this forum where those few do hang out? I would love to learn more about how to, etc.

Thanks.
Mook

Anything relating to your jeep isnt out of place here. If you have a jeep and love it, then youre in the right spot.

I would submit a thread in the "Suspension" sub of the website (Suspension/Driveline/Brakes/Wheels/Tires - Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum). There you can start your own thread about lowering the vehicle.

I would also utilize the search feature and type in the keywords youre looking for. Some existing discussions might already be on the forum that you can contribute to.

Good luck with what you're searching for!

Re: Please Forgive Me If I'm Out of Place...

Actually there are IMO very few people who want to raise a WK2. They really are mostly pavement cruisers. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of people who do like to take them offroad and mod them appropriately, but for the most part they tend to stay on the street.
I for one actually lowered mine. Now I certainly wouldn't "slam" my Jeep, but I was able to lower it about an inch doing nothing more than changing the air suspension links. Now if you are on coil springs this is out of the question, but it's a very easy and cheap way to lower it a bit if you have quadra-lift suspension.
I have a thread made specifically for this in the suspension section. Check it out, there is all sorts of info and pictures there.

Edit: I just saw that it says you have a summit, so assuming it's a 4x4 then you have air suspension and this mod will work. PM me if you have any questions, I even make these links for forum members if you're interested.

Here is the link: DIY homemade air suspension links. Install with pics!

Thanks for the replies. I think part of this is just knowing where to go on the site. Subforums for each Generation is new to me. TBSS only had the one

I've managed to find some great information already, as well as getting some end links going!
