Sorry you didn't get my subtle joke. I buy my vehicles (i. e. I lease it to myself).
My overland is purchased.

You can buy and trade after 36mo and I think you can do better than a lease, based on the numbers I keep seeing posted.

It works well on Jeep GC's because they seem to hold their value fairly well.
You have unlimited miles and and get out any time.

I never expected to get out of my limited as early as I did. But it was no biggy and really no loss at all.

I got out of my 14 Overland because it was a POS early model. Bought a preowned CPO BMW X5 in its place but had serious negative equity when I sold it for the 15 Overland, so I don't want that to happen again. I'll probably stick with leasing because technology is rapidly changing with cars. Plus, I change them out almost every two years not three. Therefore, I know I'd either have to put much more down to compensate or risk having serious negative equity. I own a second car so leasing short term is perfect for me.

Right side up, up side down. It's all the same.

It's X $$$/mo to own anything, then you die

Nah, they actually use this system that can easily be modified with materials available in your own home:

Re: Please help get me out of my Ford and back to Jeep!

Jeez, I wish my payments were anywhere near your guys' payments! I am paying $787 a month on my 3 year lease of a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Eco Diesel. :-( Of course that was with 0 down (other than drive-off fees).

Thats the worst part about car shopping. The guy ahead of you could be getting the same exact vehicle but paying significantly less. I wish the Tesla sales model could go for every vehicle. Buy direct from the manufacturer and cut out the middle man.
