I need help with 1st order for a 2015 GC Overland Diesel
1. Would you go with a 4x4 or 4x2 ? (i'm not much of an off-road-er but may be handy in some cases
2. Which optional equipment should I add (to Overland), ?
3. Lastly, if you had a chance to order any additional equipment, what would it be ?
The price difference between a 4x4 and 4x2 is negligible at best - something $700 or less. Adding AWD to a all-ready potent package is just icing on the cake. It makes the car that much more sure-footed whenever the weather turns for the worse.
Have you "built" your vehicle at Jeep.com. That way you get to compare the options and prices so you can decide what YOU want. It really doesn't matter what the rest of us want, unless you are going to loan us the Jeep.
Of course, with the Overland you already have most everything.
Wait you started off asking if 4x2 vs 4x4 was worth it and now asking if Quadra Drive and Off Road Adventure is?
Based on your first post, it would be totally overkill.
However, some people do get the Off Road Adventure in order to get the 18" wheels. Some folks prefer them for looks or really do go off road which they are better for, or for more options on tires.
I wouldn't think of buying this without the Advanced Tech Package.
The QuadrDrive II adds an electronically controlled locking rear. Probably not too big a deal for on road use.
The Off Road package basically does 2 things on the Overland. It adds skid plates and swaps the 20" wheels for 18's.
I had an Overland with the ORII package for beach use. I intend on getting a Summit with no available skid plates and 20's, so I see no need for ORII for on road.
If you aren't going off road then I wouldn't bother with either of those options. The standard quadratracII system will still handle moderate off road conditions anyway. Sand, dirt, snow.....
If you are leasing, lease for the OEM warranty period. (3 years) No way would I buy an extended service contract on a vehicle I didn't own or keep it beyond the OEM warranty coverage. For a buy, I feel differently, of course, and I do have a Mopar MaxCare extended service contract on my Summit...I do many miles in a year and blew out of the OEM warranty in 24 months based on those miles.
