Re: Poll for members with at least 1,000 miles

I'm feeling what feels like a noticeable up shift or down shift always at 40 mph. Hemi 4X2.

Most seem to notice the problem during light acceleration at around 40 MPH. Since the V6 and V8 both have this issue, at the same approximate speed, I would think it's independant of the engine, and could very well be a wobbling driveshaft.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're holding off on issuing a TSB until the part is actually available.
I hope you are right, because with 31 responders, 25% having a problem is NOT GOOD!!!

No one has reported a V6 shuddering in this poll so far, anyone out there?

Re: Poll for members with at least 1,000 miles

Just to eliminate an outlying variable, could those who feel the shudder be running poorer quality gas or be affected by the seasonal change in fuel blends? It's the time of year where fuel quality suffers in the name of "cleaner air" and various metro areas have multiple blends (ten blends at least here in the Chicago area). Some blends have extra oxygenation that can affect driveability and make engines run rough. It COULD be possible that these ecologically friendly fuel blends give the WK2's computer a heavy workload and the algorithms Chrysler has in the WK2 may not be enough to compensate for some fuels when the vehicle is at certain speeds and engine loads. That's my strong suspicion anyway.

What about build date? I wonder if the shudder has been eliminated in the newer built trucks.

Re: Poll for members with at least 1,000 miles

I just can't believe that after all the pre-production testing, nearly 1/2 of the hemi owners on this forum report the shudder. WTF CHRYSLER?!?!?

Those ridiculous lower smog producing fuels (total waste and just costs consumers extra) are normally put into production in late spring and summer to supposedly help air quality and lower pollution during the heavy driving season. So if it is due to that as what is left in the market is used up and we begin using the regular blends we should see an improvement.

Don't think quality makes a difference in mine either. I always run at least 89 in my Hemi usually from Shell but occasionally 93 from Costco because its really cheap. Only problem is they only have 87 and 93. But I have seen no difference.

Re: Poll for members with at least 1,000 miles

I had this same shudder on my '06 HEMI Overland, so the problem has been around for a VERY long time. It seems it is either a hit or miss with buying a Jeep. I will be seriously upset if I get a shudder on my new WK2 (due for delivery on 25th Nov). The shudder on my old WK went away after getting a Diablo Trinity tuner.
