Re: Poor dealership experience? This is the place!

Jones Chrysler/Jeep (of Jones Junction), Bel Air MD
Late October/Early Nov

-Lack of knowledge of vehicle (what items were std., model overview, options, operation, etc.)
-Poor attitude by sales-"boy" (I dont think he works there anymore to be honest)
-Sales-boy was pushy. He was trying to get me in a Blackberry Pearl w/ beige interior (I wanted Black/Black). I asked them to do a DX (no big deal). He made it seem like a chore.
- I asked for them to do some research while I was away on business for the week and i'd come back ready to purchase if the information was good. I was a pretty easy sale for them, they made it difficult.
-HORRIBLE communication - I had to keep calling them for updates and to clear issues up. The sales boy never went over pricing, incentives, extended warranties, accessories, etc. with me. I would have purchased tubular side steps and the 20" Overland rims from MOPAR and rolled them into my vehicle cost. This way I could have my winter and summer wheels. Guess i'll get them from eBay... Jones' loss thier.
- Process took WAY too long. Felt like I was at CarMax.
- They told me I was unable to custom order a new JGC. Well, that was a big lie. They just wanted me to buy off the lot.

And, recently, the service has been terrible. I've had three different Service Reps in two months. No one knows what is going on with the new JGC. I waited nearly two hours to have my wipers replaced because they installed incorrect blades.

It's a shame because the dealership is so close and offer free oil changes & engine replacement for life.

The finance guy was nice though. And, I got a pretty good deal without haggling, sticker MSRP was $42,540 and I got it for $39,500 +tax & title.

Re: Poor dealership experience? This is the place!

University Chrysler in Columbia, MO. I wouldn't recommend anyone going to this place. I did buy from them but the process was painful the entire time and they were just all around a$$holes. It started when I 1st laid eyes on the vehicle I now own. At that time, all the salesman were busy. I had to wait a good period of time to get the vehicle out (which I could have done myself). After that, I drove it a little bit and picked up the wife. It was running out of gas so I dropped the wife off and brought it back to the dealer. They didn't offer to put more fuel in it even after I stated I wasn't able to determine from the short test drive wether I was going to buy it or not. He simply took the keys back and said let me know.

I returned the next day after calling ahead to let them know I would be coming to take it again for a period of time. Again, everyone was too busy to help me out. After I drove around for a bit and realized that I did want the vehicle I then shot them an offer that was competitive below the rest of my offers in the areas that I have recieved. They immediately called me back (about 6pm in the evening) and said they was no way that they were going to sell the vehicle for that price or any price below sticker. I don't pay sticker, EVER. I bought a F150 SVT Ratpor off the lot when they were selling like hot cakes for $1000 over invoice ($4000 below MSRP). I then got the other dealer offers in writing and went back showing this was the prices I was getting (another dealership owned by them was the lowest). I am a supplier and they originally weren't going to honor it because they claimed the Overland Jeeps were too much of a commodity at the time to do this.

I told them they either accept the offer or they don't.....they reluctantly accepted the offer. From this point forward it got worse LOL.

When it came time to pick the car up it was later in the day.....around 6:30pm. I had the check already and informed the dealer that I would be coming by with my wife and kid (so I didn't have to leave a vehicle there) and that it would be around my 1 year olds bedtime so if everything could be ready and someone ready to work with me when I got there I would greatly appreciate it.

Well as you could have guessed this didn't go as smooth. It started out with my family and I sitting and waiting for a salesman to help us sign the final papers. Meanwhile my son is getting cranky. They stayed because they told me my wife had to sign the papers as well, which turned out not to be the case, I let them go home and I stayed. As we are sitting down they asked what my control number was, they had never asked or informed me at any point they would need this (Ok, I should have known this, but at this point, I was just irritated with them). So we finally sit down after 2 hours to sign the paperwork, they wouldn't give the title until I brough them the number. Which means I had to go back after the fact to bring them the number and pick up the title.

The only reason I stayed with this dealer is they had the exact vehicle I wanted, and I had sold mine the week before and had no car.

Very disappointed with the dealer, very happy with the Jeep

EDIT: I should add, they price I paid was below the original offer I sent them, so ha ha at them

The service there is awful. Of course you get the regular "they can not duplicate", but even when you point to the problem still the same. Then they track dirt and mud in the cars and do not bother to clean it up (happens every time)

Simple fix. I had this problem with the last service I got for my 2009 Dodge Ram Laramie. It was the 3rd time they were trying to fix a smell issue that they finally figured it out...it needed a new evaporator. Well anyway, I get the truck home and notice it's filthy inside and out with black scuff marks on my a-pillars etc. where they had taken the dash apart. In addition, there was poor communication. I slammed them on the feedback e-mail I received to fill out the questionnaire and they IMMEDIATELY contacted me and told me to bring the truck back at my convenience and they would give me a loaner (not an enterprise rental per my lifetime max car warranty) and FULLY DETAIL my truck inside and out. When I brought the truck in, I told them it was time for an oil change and they comped that as well so I was happy that they went out of their way to fix the problem. I would definitely do the same if I were you.

Re: Poor dealership experience? This is the place!

Al Piemonte Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge in St. Charles IL
If you live in the Chicago land area, do not purchase your new vehicle from Al Piemonte Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge in St. Charles IL.
I purchased by Jeep from there and I will admit, I got ripped off and I did learn my lesson the hard way and will never go back to this dealership. Since I got burned I am just here informing other people of what a bad dealership is. The financing guys are liars and crooks. Here are some examples of my purchase experience. I verbally agreed with the finance manger to purchase an extended contract with no deductible. Three weeks later I get my contract in the mail, and I have a $100 deductible. Very sly of the finance manger to sell me a contract that we did not agree to. Secondly, I purchased the paint protection, inside protection for the seats and dash, the soundproofing, etc. First they tell me an outside company applies the protection to the vehicles. Then they said the Al Piemonte Jeep dealership does the applications with Chrysler products. I am not sure what to believe. They said they would send the warranty to me in the mail, still waiting for it 3 months later. Six weeks after the purchase, I get a letter from the bank that I had a loan with the vehicle I traded in. My old loan still had a $15 balance from the payoff. I am not sure why the dealership waited 6 weeks to pay off my loan. So I called Al Piemonte’s Jeep financing office and told them the situation, instead of them saying we will take care of the $15, they told me it is my problem. Some customer service! Makes you feel appreciated.
If you are in the Chicago land are, and in the market for a new Jeep/Chrysler/Jeep DO NOT PURCHASE FROM AL PIEMONTE IN ST. CHARLES, IL, unless you enjoy getting lied to, ripped off, overpaying for your vehicle and treated like sh*t! Customer service is NOT there priority.
I, like a lot of guys, will be in the market for the new 2012 SRT models when they come out later this year, Al Piemonte Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge in St. Charles IL will not be getting my business. Word of mouth gets around pretty fast, especially from great forums like this one, and I hope this could serve as a warning to the next person. After I purchased my vehicle from Al Piemonte, I started asking around about that dealership and heard nothing but negative comments. I wish I did my homework sooner. From what I have been hearing, Larry Roesch in Elmhurst is a good dealership to work with and Ziegler in Schaumburg and Downers Grove are reputable.

Re: Poor dealership experience? This is the place!

I bought the JGC back in early October,
One of the first things that became apparent was that under moderate to heavy acceleration I would would hear what sounded like a scraping noise.
I drove it for a week or two then took it to my purchasing dealer for a resolution (issue could be reproduce with brakes applied and engine RPM at approx 2000 PM). They had it for two days and came back with the response that the exhaust was rubbing against a cross member under moderate to heavy torque, they shimmed a cross member and life was good again.
I went to pick up the Jeep and they said that the windshield washer hose had bubbles in and needed to be replaced.
Well two weeks later I get the call to come in and replace the windshield washer hose, Don't know why but... I got to thinking that morning and went outside to check things out (I DON'T KNOW WHY) and found a bunch of interesting things. It turns out that when they had my JGC they started an engine fire (according to them, the the transmission dipstick popped out during testing and fluid got on the hot exhaust and started a fire). Well I am there for my first oil change at 700 miles and to get the hose replaced. The engine cover was partially melted on the passenger corner plus the firewall mat is discolored on the passenger side. I took lots of pictures and when I got to the dealer ship they pretty much admitted the issue, they also signed a statement admitting what happened and have accepted full responsibility. I went back yesterday to get the replacement engine cover (a part that was partially melted on the passenger back corner) along with another part that never got installed in the first place (passenger side rear passenger door rubber bumper) Sorry to say that on my first visit to get the initial oil change done they left the windshield wiper fluid cover open. What the hell!!!, you pay the market rates and get sub par results. Bottom line is I got the replacement parts and now I am done, except for the firewall panel (which Jeep has no part number for).
Just wanted to share with this group...

Dealer = Tacoma Dodge

Refused to move at all on price on my limited. Told me that they could sell above MSRP and that they did not need my business.
Refused to order what I wanted said I just had to wait until what was on order already (that did not match my specs) came in, then when I went somewhere else and ordered and got a great price, kept calling every week for 9 weeks begging me to come back and deal with them.
This was the beginning of July though beginning of Sept timeframe.

I still go there for required stealership service on my vehicles. Never had a problem with service dept but sales is horrible.
These guys were terrible, salesman (different from the one cited above) very condescending. Continued calling after I purchased from another dealer.

River Oaks Chrysler Dodge Jeep
4807 Kirby Dr @ Hwy 59
Houston, TX 77098

Sales manager I dealt with was great til he handed me off to someone else for a while because he was with anoher customer. I considered leaving til said sales manager came back over and smoothed things over. I was forced to come back next day as sales man took so long getting my paperwork up to finanace. Came back next day and finance took hours upon hours even thought they had my paperwork from the night before. While finance was working on my deal sales guy was supposed to show me my new Jeep, which was dirty inside and our and half half a tank of gas missing. Was told by the time my paperwork was done it would be all clean and full of gas. Go finish up paperwork come back and tank is fully but my brand new jeep is still dirty inside and out. My original sales manager takes it to go get cleaned personally, and I see the owner walking around. So I am pretty peeved off by now and go tell him what has happened to me. He decides to tell me some winded story about how he is working to get one of his sons to come work on the sales floor to straighten these guys out, apologized for my experience and walks away.

I have not dealt with thes service dept yet.

This dealership has a body shop attached which is also a nightmare. A month and a half after getting my jeep someone backed into my driver side door and took off. So I bring my jeep to the body shop at the dealership. They have it for 7 days and when i get it back my keyless entry handle on that door no longer worked and someone had been storing shit in my trunk and scratched it all to hell. I notice on thusday afternoon, friday at lunch I go back to tell them about these issues, and was told to bring it back monday mourning. I know this is not me because I know I had never put more than a backpack in myt trunk. So I go back they fix dorr handle and replace the floorboard over spare tire in truck. They say they have to order the plastic seal and i will have to come back if I want this piece replaced.

I am so over that dealship, thinking about going somewhere else for service, does anyone know if this is a problem or a good palce to go in Houston, TX.

Thanks, Crazy. We hang out near that dealer several times a year, and I've wondered whether to use them for maintenance and possible service. Same story as at our home base in PA, the nearby dealers suck.

Same setup as above. I call, give exact specs, even including build codes. I get an email 2 days later "So that I can give you a better quote, tell me what options you're looking for other than engine size!"

Come on guys! I'm about to give you $90K in business and you can't even grab a pen and paper to write down specs?
Wow, I live near Al Piemonte jeep, and out of the few posts so far they have been mentioned twice. Although there is a huge banner that says " The all new St Charles chrysler dodge jeep, ram," I wonder if its under new ownership?
