Re: Popping noise from engine

I have not watched the video, but what you guys are hearing is the exhaust system, expanding and contracting due to heat or cool down. My Overland has been doing it since day one.

Nothing to worry about, as the metal is heat cycled enough times it will go away.

Re: Popping noise from engine

Makes sense ! Thought it could be this but why would I hear this if I haven't even turned car off ! Hear it when it's in park idling ? Turn the car off and you don't hear it anymore . If it's expanding and contracting then I would suspect I would hear it when truck is turned off?

^^^^^^

I think then it's more of a crinkling plastic contraction sound.

Re: Popping noise from engine

I dont think thats what Im hearing, expanding and contracting of exhaust, mine isnt that kind of sound, that doesnt even seem to even come close. This is more air echo only when its running , I cant hear it in the cab at all only when standing outside Jeep. I took the stethoscope and went almost everywhere I could acsess and cant pick it up. Im going out to the store now and Ill try another video but with a different camera and see if I can get a better clip
