two mirrors were about $225. i also got the black step up pad (under the liftgate) and a replacement chrome trim piece above the license plate that i'm going to have scott paint.

can't wait to get rid of some of this chrome! i'm also going to pull off the door trim pieces.
I thought I read that you could order the chrome mirror caps. I would have thought it would be cheaper to buy those and have them painted than full mirror assemblies.

Re: Possible Solution for Body Colored Mirror Covers

you can. but the chrome mirrors are $100 and it is $40 to get scott to paint them - plus shipping back to me. it was only another hundred or so to just get them pre-painted. i was worried that the paint might start to peel at some point since it's painted on chrome.

If paint job is done right with good products (for chrome) paint will never peel from chrome. I have chrome painted on some of my cars and paint still like new even after 5 years ( + Chicago winters).

Can you tell me the part numbers for those two side mirrors in Brilliant Black (Laredo style) that you ordered?

Thanks.

Re: Possible Solution for Body Colored Mirror Covers

i don't have the part numbers but here is the link to the trademotion store.

I ordered the first two in the list - essentially, the cheapest black mirrors. Unfortunately, the mirrors ended up costing more than the site said they would. I guess the site isn't always updated in a timely manner. They ended up costing $380 including shipping. I didn't find this out until after I ordered. I am only going to use the mirror caps. Not sure what I'll do with the rest of the mirrors. Apparently, there is a black heated mirror with blind spot, but they cost like $480 each. Its the Limited mirror from 2011 before they went to chrome.
