Looking for 2014 V8 MPG's from new owners. If you could please post your City & Highway miles and whether you drive like an old lady, a 17 year old on streoids or somewhere in between.
Thanks!!

Normal driving, however mostly HWY miles, average is between 16-16.5.

Hmmm seems like the 8 speed doesn't add much as far as fuel economy goes. My "aerodynamic as a refrigerator box" Commander, with the non-VVT HEMI gets 16.4 mpg on the highway.

Have you checked your tire pressures since you picked up your Jeep, often they are delivered by the dealership a bit underinflated to "improve" the softness of the ride.

3 fill-ups, with about 70% HWY/30% City driving, in hilly and twisty roads.

1st tank = 15.6 MPG<O:p></O:p>
2nd tank = 16.1MPG <O:p></O:p>
3rd tank = 17.6 MPG (Avg. 20.1 HWY on a 125 mile trip, when I first filled up) <O:p></O:p>

I’m pretty happy with those numbers so far, and now that I’m a little past the 1000 mile break-in, and my foot is getting a little heavier, I’m hoping the numbers equalize to about 16.5MPG or so.

Nice to see that the MPG's are going up. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a Limited. Looks like it might come down to a coin toss on the V8 or V6. I don't put many miles on my vehicle, so it would be about a $35 a month extra fuel cost and the $2k option charge for the V8.

Averaging 14-15 MPG and I'm doing roughly 80% City 20% Hwy. Just broke 900 miles last night.

My wife averaged 17.8 one the first tank, mostly city and I use that tern loosely as we live in a small town not a city. I have no doubt it would be lower if I were driving it. Something else to note is that mine is a 2wd and I noticed the guys posting before me have 4wd's.

Last couple of fillups I checked my mileage; it was about 11 - all city driving; but I drive with Eco mode off and my right foot in it up to my kneecap. That's why I got the Hemi. :D

But of COURSE!!!

I was surprised how much of a difference going sport mode made on mileage in a loop from Lyons to Golden on Peak to Peak.

With ECO mode, at 1600+ miles, I can get just a tad over 18 even driving with the aim to keep the AERO mode on as much as possible except for waving hi to the Frozen Dead Guy.

With ECO mode off, driving at pretty much the same [only moderately crazy] speeds on the same loop, dropped down to about 12 mpg. Tried again, this time flipping the up shift pedal to try to keep it in the higher gears as soon as it would upshift and still couldn't crack 14.

Overall highway and suburban is averaging a surprising 18.5, where I tend to keep it to less than 5-10 over limits for purposes of protecting insurance rates.

Ouch, seeing these real world numbers so far does not help in favor of the V8 for my decision on which motor to get. I know the V8 was not gonna be good on fuel, but those numbers are almost disappointing. Well I guess since time isnt an issue for me, waiting for a used diesel later down the road could be a good decision.

Well, the Hemi with the MDS sure beats the snot out of a Land Rover with the Jag based V8s...

A smooth, steady foot is more important than a lightweight one... I wish the IP showed number of active cylinders, but you can get a pretty good guess by watching the instantaneous mileage display.

Once you enter 8 cylinder mode, the trick is to keep from going full throttle, but get up to cruise speed as fast as that a-hole in the Volvo ahead of you will allow, so it gets back to 4 mode quickly.

I really don't understand some of these low figures...I truly get an average of 16+ in general rural warm weather driving (about 15 in the winter) and 20-21 on the highway at 70 mph max. These are calculated manually, but don't differ much from the EVIC on my particular vehicle.

Easy, heavy foot. I'm starting to learn the throttle much better now and with the help of the ACC, I'm getting much better mileage.

Depends on drive setup (2 wheel versus 4 wheel), air temp, tire pressure, altitude, tire size, wind conditions, terrain, etc...

But, most of it will depend on how they drive and the driving conditions.

My 09 V6, I am getting 15.6MPG combined, I shiver to think what I'd get with a Hemi.

In the first 100 miles I am getting 15.5 mpg with mostly stop and go traffic so far.

My average was down to 10.2, but that included the day the odometer wasn't working. :)

Today I did a little over 100 miles. Mostly highway, some 25mph through town and construction and some on the beach :D

Average 21.1

I just did about a 500 mile round trip, mostly interstate 65-70 mph, averaged 23.5 mpg. I have 4wd Overland, Eco was on, key is to use the cruise control as much as possible. Otherwise I have averaged as low as 17, but most of my driving is highway/country roads. 1,700 miles on the vehicle now. Some of that 500 miles, like 2 hours worth, were through a crappy snow/slush/sleet storm too.

Probably 60% city driving and at ~1,100 miles and getting 17.0 mpg with the ECO button pretty much always on.

I still do mostly city driving with some highway driving occuring on the weekends. Haven't reset the avg. MPG indicator in over 3 weeks, but it shows me averaging 12.5. I'm nearing 3,000 miles and have a better feel for how the vehicle operates and don't find myself flooring it as much, so I hope to start seeing this go up.

Thought I would bring this back after a couple of weeks. My Limited 5.7 is almost here. They have shipped it as far as New Jersey and it is waiting for the final leg of the transport to my dealer. I hope it is not that much longer. How are people doing on the MPG's after some more miles?

1100 Miles on mine...Averaging 18MPG...I'd say 50/50 highway / city driving...I did put about 100 miles on it on the highway a few weeks back...saw about 22-24MPG.
