I recall that my 2006 GC Overland had power-folding exterior mirrors--a feature that is so handy when you park your vehicle each day in a garage---especially if the garage door is fairly narrow...
I was disappointed when my 2008 GC Overland did not have this feature and I am hoping that the new 2011 will have this feature / option ---especially given the fact that the new Jeep is supposed to be 3 inches wider than the current model...
With my 2010 GC, I have to manually fold at least one exterior mirror each time I garage the vehicle....Given that garages and garage doors seem to be getting smaller, and the new GC is getting larger, this feature becomes even more relevant...

The power-folding mirrors have been available on Grand Cherokee export models for a very long time. The first appearance of them on a U.S. Jeep model was the 2006 Overland. They carried over for 2007, but then Jeep dropped them in the middle of the model year (~January 2007). It may have been due to warranty issues/cost, no explanation was offered.
I do not yet see them as being available on the 2011 Grand Cherokee (except for export models). I should have a confirmed and somewhat finalized list of options and features in the next month or two.
Oh Bad News...I do hope that this feature is added at some point to the 2011.....
(I was recently looking at a brochure of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz ML 350 Bluetec (diesel) (competitor and similar MSRP to a new GC Overland/Limited) and noticed that they offer the power-folding exterior mirrors as an option and have a 7 speed transmission....
I am looking forward though, to the power tailgate option as well as possibly a heated steering wheel on the new Jeep--both of which are also available on the Benz, the first an option, the second as standard equipment...

okay...I will buy a 2011 Overland...promise!!.... because now I know it will at least fit through my single garage door!!! (without getting out of the vehicle and closing the mirrors manually)
now...how about a 3.0L Mercedes diesel option?
I would take that too if offered as an option in Canada .....
