Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

So my wife's 2014 WK2 with v6 has to have the cooler and lines for the power stearing replaced as they started to leak. Temps around hear in western WI have been around -10 or so. The jeep has just under 8,000 miles on it.

Courious if anybody else has had this issue.

Re: Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

Somewhat similar for me. Lines leaking , but for transmission cooler - into the cooler(2000 miles, V6, tow package, mid-40's outside temps). Hopefully not a trend, but this website would be the place to determine that.

Lets us know how long it takes to repair it. For me I had to wait three days for the lines to get to the dealer ( maybe there are special lines for the '14 Grand).

good luck,
Al

Re: Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

My 2012 Overland V6 power steering is leaking somewhere. Had to add half a bottle of fluid recently. When I find out where it is leaking I will post. Right around 28k on the odometer.

Re: Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

My 2014 Overland with about 12000 miles is leaking at the power steering cooler lines when in exit/entry position and remote start is used for the first time each day. Can't make it happen any other time or in any other QL position.

Re: Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

I have just over 12000 miles on my 2014 GC Limited and had my steering gear replaced, it was leaking on passenger side. However, when I got it back I noticed mine must have leaked by the cooler too at some point. There was dried fluid and a bit if wet in the plastic protector. Was yours leaking at the connection or was it a line failure?

Re: Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

Mine is at the dealer today for engine smoking by the pass side firewall. The ps fluid was topped off 2 weeks ago and now it's at the min line today. I get this burning oil smell every now and then and was finally able to catch the smoking. I should know later today what it is exactly. I have 25k on mine.

Re: Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

Seems I have oil leaking from my valve cover onto the heat shield, no ps leaking.

Re: Power stearing cooler and lines leaking

I've had the radiator replaced due to a leak about 6 weeks ago.
