I just noticed that prices in Canada have gone up today. Yesterday, the base price of a Grand Cherokee Laredo was just shy of $40,000. Today it's $40,495. Perhaps this is a result of a weaker Canadian dollar.
Well yeah, the CAD as lost over 20% against the greenback in the last months...so it will reflect in all consumer goods. What really gets me, is that a couple years back, not too long ago, the Canadian buck was stronger then the US currency, and goods were still cheaper in the states...we are sooooo getting screwed left and right up here...I still cross the boarder every two weeks to do groceries...even with 20% currency diff, I save lots...go figure... :slapfight:
At current exchange it wouldn't be worth it; but I did consider buying new or 1.5 years old in USA and then taking a chance on warranty. I mean when our dollars were on par, the US jeep was at least $10,000 cheaper (new). Can do a lot of "warranty" out of pocket for that difference.
Would never do that now though, especially not with the 8 speed.
