Appropriate timing i guess if that is the case... they have really ramped up the diesel production.

The net price on my 14 CRD Limited with ORAII went down in price. ORAII price was reduced from 2,495 to 1,795. Dealer will use the lower price. Delivery scheduled for 10/9.

$400 for a CD player!

Are they running low on stock, trying to push people away from it, or both?

That's what I'm wondering because the thing was $195 when it first launched and even that was priced too high. Ours requires us to re-insert the CD every time you get in, otherwise it doesn't detect a disc.

Not low on Stock, but yes, because people generally don't want it, low demand means higher cost in vehicles. As they build less and less with CD Players the price will go up.

Re: Price increases for most Jeep models - effective today

the 2015s might not even be offered with a V8, except the SRT. It should help Chrysler with CAFE though, by removing a gas guzzling option from their equation.

Are you just speculating or do you have a source? Its certainly plausible, but I was just wondering of you had some inside info.

No plans at this time to exclude the V8 in current offerings. As long as people are buying it has some time.... Next POSSIBLE driveline change is 2017

You're probably right. I waited for the CRD for a while and got hit with the first HEMI price increase when I gave up waiting.

With gas prices having not spiked much if at all this summer, I have not really noticed much pain at the pump (don't get me wrong, the HEMI drinks but there is a 30 - 40 cent price differential gas to diesel around here). That really screws up any ROI timeframe so they will need to work harder to educate the general public on the virtues of diesel engines. Making them only a few hundred apart is going to make the sell easier. Too bad they didn't lower the price of the CRD instead....

Re: Price increases for most Jeep models - effective today

Maybe there getting ready to send out so more of the elusive $500 off coupons and this is the way to offset the cost I know it's a stretch but since I'm going to miss the 9/16 offering and I'm just really hoping something new pops up in Oct.

Re: Price increases for most Jeep models - effective today

The Hemi price increase has been effective since May, right?

[edit] It looks like Chrysler was using the price increases for the Overland to test whether they stick or not. Maybe there is still a huge demand, so why not increase prices on other models?
