Re: Pricing: Be Thankful (if) You Live in the USA

Its really apples and oranges when it comes to comparing gas prices between the US and Europe. A hugh chunk or thier gas cost is tax. In the US, depending on state tax, is less than $1 per gallon.

Jeep must secure a license to produce vehicles in China. Imports are subjected to a 25% tariff. With a 17% value-added tax plus punitive new taxes on vehicles imported from America, the price of a Jeep Grand Cherokee can top $80,000 (503,000 yuan).

A 2012 3.6L limited with QL is going for $77,505.00 USD and they only come with a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty. And you will pay several more thousand for the dealer fees which are not included on the price. I remember that the SRT8 was going for over $100,000.00 USD a few years ago.

Don't buy into that BS. We pay higher prices cause they screw us and they know they can get away with it.
If I walk into Ontario Motor Sales in Oshawa and order a 2012 Camaro, which is 10 minutes away from the plant, I pay $1495.00 shipping.
If I walk into a Florida dealership which is 24 hours away, I pay $900.00 shipping.
I ask how can that be other than getting the shaft?
